Hi, we are being sent to ZRH for our sin's, staying in the Movenpick (Swiss-German for outside toilet knowing our company)for a few nights.
Can anyone recommend any good, friendly bars for drinks and food?
Charters for a company called Balair?, before you all ask.
Thanks

Hi flight supervisor,
our co. uses the movenpick in ZRH, and while the foyer looks quite nice the rooms are more like hostels! the hotel (hostel) has a very nice bar and a couple of good restaraunts. Also there is a bus service going downtown which is 10 swiss francs round trip. Just take the bus downtown and you will find many restaraunts/bars. If you have a big night and miss the last bus back to the hotel (1130 pm) it will cost between 40 and 50 francs. Sorry cant remember any names of restaurants but ask the girls at the movenpick as they are lovely and very helpful.

At the Mövenpick there are two proper restaurants there if I remember correctly, a Chinese one and a Swiss one. You are probably better to go into the city however, since there are many more there to
choose.

You will be able to find lots of good restaurants and bars in the Niederdorf, Limmatquai and Bahnhofstrasse (on the other side of the river) areas of town, which is only about 15 minutes or so from the hotel on bus. You can get around the centre of the city pretty easily by the tram. Basically, everything to do with night-life is centered around there. Rosalis is quite a popular bar, and the Älpli Bar is pretty good if you want to get some traditional Swiss atmosphere. If you want a really lively ambiance you can try the Casa Bar in Münstergasse, it is quite expensive though!!

For restaurants, Das Grandia is a nice, quiet Italian resto in Seefeld. There is also a good jazz and sushi place called Blue Note near Paradeplatz. The 'coolest' nightclub to go to just now is Kaufleuten,
which is on Pelikanstrasse, Mythen 61 is also meant to be a fine place and can be found on Mythenquai. But as I said, there are so many nice bars and restaurants around the Bahnhofstrasse and Niederdorf you will have no problems with finding somewhere good!

Viel Spass!
