I didn't profess to fancy the pants off her because she was good a passing 747-400 safety exams!
Serious point though, what we saw was an image portrayed by the director/producers of the programme. I wouldn't judge her or anyone else for that matter on the basis of what we see of them in short 3 min glimpses on screen (except perhaps the scouse IND tw@t)so I wouldn't be so quick to cast dispersion. What were you like at the age of 23? I was not much more than a wet-behind the ears 2nd Lt being told in not-too-poilte terms by my SSgt how much of a dogs-nacker I could be at times. We all mature with age!

...and wouldn't I like to be the photogropher
Make luuurve to the camera Gill! Actually, I think one of the pics is of her, it's a bit grainy to be sure, but have a look towards the end of the list headed "Airline" if I remember rightly.

well I suppose it would take someone from a nation who find wooly quadrapeds that go BBBAAAHHH attarctive to pass a comment like that! BTW, you don't have to be good looking to pass an exam!
Look at a previous post, the programme showed what the producer wanted it to show, do you really think you are qualified to judge anyone on the basis of a fly-on-the wall documentary? Lets keep it light hearted and steer away from getting personal.

Us Aussies get called a lot of things,
but "Sheep Shaggers" has never been one of them!
Oh and if you feel free to turn our Cabin Crew forum into a Cheesecake gallery - we'll feel free to take the pi55 ...
your call!

Couple of points Tarantella:
1. I didn't start the thread with a collection of pictures, Cabin Boy did. Take the Cheesecake issue up with him;
2. Cabin boy: Gill Fitgerald isn't here to defend herself so don't sl@g her off for failing an exam. Banter is witty, not personal! Tarantella, if a couple of us pick up on this point and make a barbed comment back understand why!
3. I wouldn't be too quick to defend someone willing to take a pop at someone who isn't on the forum (as far as I am aware). I had rather hoped Cabin Boy would take the hint with the posts from Mach and I. There is nothing worse than a bit of fun getting out of hand and resulting in one or more of us rebuking someone!
If you wouldn't want someone anonymously sl@gging you off in public, don't do it to other people!

I really feel that I shouldn't reply to this crap you guys are spinning. You fella's are pretty crude. This topic was one that I started for interested users to have a look at other airlines cabin crew uniforms.
You guys "immediately" turned it into a beauty pageant with comments like..and I quote..." I didn't profess to fancy the pants off her because she was good a passing 747-400 safety exams! " ...I am sure she would also find that offensive seen as though you guys are the ones telling me there is more to Gill than good looks. Maybe YOU should watch what you say about her in public, I don't think she would appreciate your sexist comments either.
Sorry Gill if I have offended you, maybe to clarify things you could respond and tell us why you failed your flight attendant training exams.

Okay Cabin Boy, I,m not adverse to being called to account, and you have a point worth considering here. If she were to respond, and take offence at what I hope comes accross as light-hearted I would of course apologise unre-servedly, as I would if I said something anyone lese found offensive in the process, however I still believe that the comment about her failing an exam goes further than that because you called into question more than just a subjective viewpoint on whether as a man watching the programme I found a "subject" attractive. Your comment, I and Mach felt, was inapropriate because it was aimed as a criticism of someone in particular who to the best of our knowledge is not on this forum and therefore unable and unavailable to defend herself. Furthmore, to some it could be seen to question her professional conduct and ability. Your posyt is above to see so I don't need to quote, but calling someone an airhead and accusing them of being more worried about her hairstyle than learning her job is more than unduely harsh. Like I pointed out none of us know her, she might well have been 100% committed to learning her job but we only see what the producers wanted us to see. Perhaps they wanted to portray her in a certain light? Who knows? Neither do we know what she struggled on in the exam or why? Could you say you would not be affected by having a camera there making you nervous? again we will never know. The important thing is that she did pass the exam regardless of it being on the 2nd attempt and therefore PAX safety will not be compromised. Both I and Mach felt it was unjustified to call her ability to do the job into question and we both commented so. We tried to drop a subtle hint and it was not taken. For my part I meant no offence but to point out what I felt was a harsh comment in the hope you would retract or refrain. I am sure Mach felt the same. If you took offence I apologise it was not my intention, however, I will not apologise for the intention of my posts to you. I hope you concede why.
Onto the issue of the picture posts. I was accused of turning the whole thing into a cheesecake gallery. As I pointed out I didn't styart the thread, you did abd for your own reasons. I have no issue with this. Hell if someone posted pics of Army Air Corps officers, and officers in the British army/RAF/RN or pilots in uniform here or in any other forum and FAs/pax/an interested party commented on how we as a collection of individuals look I wouldn't take it personally. Maybe I am in an un-pc minority, frankly I don't care. So long as it doesn't get personal! My comment was a rebuff of an accusation I felt shouldn't be levelled at me. Like I said, I didn't post them.
Lets keep it light-hearted. Lets not get personal about people, especially as this forum is anonymous. These are the salient points. How would you like to be on a flight with another crew member who is sweetness and light to your face and writing anonymously about you here? It has happened a fair bit on the Mil pilots forum and I have gone on record there as saying I don't like it. I am not a regular officer anymore, and am now a reservist wearing a different cap-badge but I still know a few of the guys on that forum and I know I am not alone in my point of view.

Cabin Boy... of course! I like to think I have a (reasonably) open mind. Lets leave it here lest an argument starts.
As for the Aussie/Kiwi thing, I suppose it depends on who you speak to. Either way whatever crumbles your cookies!
Luvly... wouldn't know. I take it you know aid individual and work for VS?
