Crotalus - yep, it's true - I am one of 9 recent recruits already on-line at BFS and very happy with it too - it's great to be doing what you want to do, in a fresh environment, on your own doorstep! There is life after BA.......

Question

Hey Wake Vortex!. .. .Nice to read from someone in there already! I have an interview coming up for c.c. geneva based and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about the kind of people they are looking for. I read the info on their website of course but I'm wondering if they are, like other airlines, quite selective with age, look and previous customer service experience.... .. .Any hint you feel to give me??. .. .Cheers,. .. .Mrs. FloatJockey. . . . [ 26 March 2002, 01:48: Message edited by: FloatJockey ]

Mrs. Floatjockey - wow, what I'd give to up and live in GVA! There were ten people at my interview - it consisted of a 'getting to know you' session, a short maths test without a calculator, a test about easyJet knowledge, inc. a/c types, other companies in the easy family, what elements make up cabin crew training etc. Then a slide show, q and a, and a 2-1 interview. I am 36, my fellow colleagues on the course ranged from 21 to 36 (I have worked with people in their mid to late 40's), with no definable single quality, other than being fun people - you appear to have to be an 'up for it' type of person, down to earth, yet professional, smartly turned out, not too business like, but not too casual. I made a big thing of my customer service background at 3 other carriers, and was asked to define what good customer service meant, and to give examples of where I went overboard to help someone out - I had quite a few examples, following a winter of fog and snow last year! Although technically we can, it is rare for us to work with a Swiss crew - the a/c are reg'd in Switzerland, and very similar. I hope you'll make it through the process, to come and join us - it is the cultural diversity of an airline company which makes it such a fun environment. We were told we'd been selected because we were'orange' - it means fun and flexible, I guess; hope this helps and the very best of luck - Robin

Thumbs up

Thanks W.V., this IS precious info!. .. .I got an e-mail from their GVA recruitment team today, they say they can wait for me till end april/early may (when I intend to relocate from Oz to CH). They also mentioned I could skip the assessment day if there is any organized around that period, and added that I could do my course in Luton instead of Geneva, since they have 2 courses starting every month there... Gosh that's nice! I mean, they have never seen me and they are sooooo "personal" already! Wow! . .. .Here in Oz it's more like NO ANSWER for months and months, then if you are lucky enough to participate to a group interview, it's: "OK, DON'T CALL US, WE'LL LET YOU KNOW...". . .. .Cheers for the info! See you on the tube in a few months time! . .. .Mrs. FloatJockey / Floaty. .. .-------------------------------------------------. .Seldom, if ever, have we felt completely free to be ourselves.... . . . [ 27 March 2002, 01:27: Message edited by: Floaty ]

Mrs. Floatjockey/Floaty - good stuff - they seem very keen! I'm sure you'll impress them equally in the flesh, so to speak - I'll keep everything crossed - good luck - Robin
