Hi Guys,

Sunstate second interview date is TBA....they haven't told me...they said they will contact me. The only thing is that I am off to Fiji on 19 January for a well earned rest, I told them this at the end of the interview as a courtesy and they said they will work around it should I be successful for a 2nd interview as this process can go over a 3 month period.

Santa's helper - thank you so much for your help, some of the things we talked about helped me a great deal in the interview process and I cant thank you enough....I really mean it.

Cool

Hi everyone,

Well I have just arrived home from my Sunstate interview... and I don't feel very confident. I became quite nervous as soon as I walked into the interview room--which is strange as I am usually quite sure of myself. Maybe it is a reflection of how much I want this.

Oh well--- now for the wait. I hope they understand that I was a little nervous and underneath those nerves beats the heart of a true F/A.

If anyone form Sunstate is reading this please let them know that I would be perfect for the job and would make them proud to have me as part of their team!!!

Love (a very nervous) SMILE

Thanks for your words of encouragment Biccy C. But I know how cool, calm and collected I was for the Qantas interviews-- well this was totally the opposite. I even caught myself swiveling (very slightly) on my chair.

But it's OK. At least I know and understand why my rejection letter will arrive in the mail over the next few days..... This is not a negative attitude-- this is reality.

I also stuttered, paused in the middle of a question (my brain stopped thinking right in the middle of a train of thought), I think the tremble in my voice would have registered quite high in the 'ricter scale', not to mention one of my answers was a little silly ( now that I think about it).

Although other than the chair swiveling thing, my posture and body language was pretty spot on -- looking people in thier eyes, facing the person who asked me the question, standing tall, and I smiled at everyone who was within a 10km radius of me-- and I looked pretty good if I do say so myself. (Thanks to last minute foils in my hair the night before to fix up a recent 'brunette to blonde' disaster! )

Anyway it is not the end of the world- and 'yes' my friend you will see me in the skies- maybe a little later than sooner!!

I just have to mention that if anyone else has an interview with Sunstate---they are really lovely people so there is no need to be nervous-- really!

Smile....Are you sure that all those things you think you did so badley were picked up by HR?

I know what you mean by the stuttering thing...Kem and myself will be able to relate a bit to that one after funny discussion on "where did that stutter come from?". Dont worry matey, you are not the only one to develop a speach problem in an interview...been there done that!!!!

Any way...goodluck and if worse comes to worse and you get a "no" letter...just put it down to experiance....

I will fill you in on my Eastern interview in a few days.....sheisk!!!! I hope they dont sit me on a chair that swivles.....thats just another thing I have to remember not to do!!!!

I'm 99% sure that my interview was that bad. It's OK -- it is all experience, and I believe that everything happens for a reason. _ Gosh I must be learning alot of lessons!!!

Smile - you are currently experience the " I'm going to tell myself I haven't got a 2nd interview so that I won't be too let down when I get rejected syndrome !! " ...........WELL.............STOP IT !!! I went through that and go through that everytime, it just makes you stress more !

You have got all the right qualifications, don't worry about it yet until you hear from them. You were just as prepared as me and sounded like you did well when we spoke on the phone straight after - keep the faith ! Fingers crossed

as for that bl**dy swivel chair !! I did it too ! I found myself moving back and forth, it must be a trick !!!

Yes we all will now remember that when we are actually asked to be seated on the swivle chair..its really not to make us feel at ease..its actually a plot and a ploy.... SHEISK....this is the lowest form of wannabe torture...I thought swivle's were invented for enjoyment....never ever again will I be able to relax on a god damm swivle......Cabin boy..you sound as though you really have the swivle movements down pact, rocking to and fro!!!

Thanks Cabinboy for the positive 'brain-bashing', but when we spoke right after the interview I think I was suffering from-- " I know I can do this job, and I am very very qualified not to mention very passionate about it. Therefore they can see all this when not getting dizzy from all the chair swiveling." syndrome....

Lucky I know what a good and what a bad interview is-- and therefore are not getting my hopes up for this. But don't worry I haven't totally given up-- maybe Sunstate is very familiar with the symptoms of the above syndrome and are going to give me a second chance to prove myself!!

Besides I was 90% sure I did well in my VB interview and we all know how that turned out..........

Well the 'ole banana chair and cocktail are a little late for me. I'm sure that if they were part of my interview then I wouldn't have been so darn nervous.

OH NO!!!!!!

Smile...Im so sorry! That really is bad news huh?!?! Its an awful feeling isnt it, unfortunatley a feeling that so many of us have felt, and may even keep feeling in the times ahead.
But we are all way to dedicated to not eventually get in. Just think...this obviously isnt your time just yet..it will come...Im sure of it. I am putting my life on it that 2002 will be our year.
As I said before practise my friend makes perfect....God!!! we are just going to be the BEST ever soon. So good infact that they wont want us to leave the interview, they will be begging for us to board the plane right there and then !!!
Turn this situation around and make sure it adds even more fuel to your fire of success!!!

Take care...

Here Here Cloudy ! Smile, bad luck mate. I don't want to patronise you any further but I just wanted to let you know that I am proud of you. Your attitud to your rejection letter is excellent, unlike alot of us,you haven't "spat the dummy" or slammed sunstate for not processing your application any further.

Good on you for being a good sport. You WILL get there...i'd bet on it.

CB
p.s - I'm not there yet smile, there will no doubt be a few tears and a sob story from me in a few weeks time if I dont get in ! No doubt this thread will go past the 100 reply mark !

Smile,

I feel for you mate, but as others have said, your positive attitude will be what gets you in one day. It may not be Sunstate, but there is a lucky airline out there waiting for you.

I dont know you as well as the others, but you really deserve a break, and I just wish there was something we could all do for you.

Its times like this that make me realise how lucky I am to have my job. I hope one day, very soon, that you too will feel the joy that your dream job will bring you.

Until then, please stay as lovely as you are. You, along with all the regulars in this post are one in a million. Cloudy just got in, and you are next. Stay positive, believe in yourself and use this as a benchmark for this year. Its still only January and its going to be a long year, full of many changes..and they will all be good.

Take care Smile..and do just that

Question

Hey Cabin Boy, I followed your story for a while and would like to know what happened with your interview. I was visiting their HR last week with my husband (he had an interview for an F\O position and I sneaked in with my CV!). They told me they recently hired something like 7 or 12 C.C. (not sure abt. the number) 'cause they got more aircrafts. I wonder if you are one of them.......

Hey FloatJockey!!!

Hope all goes well with your husband for the F/O position.

Would I be able to get him to email me about what happens at the interview, his qualifications etc ...I have applied and just wondering what experience they are looking at before inviting people to an interview.

Thanks in advance..
