Pay in thomsonfly and monarch

Pay in thomsonfly and monarch
Could anyone tell me what the take home pay is on average every month with Thomsonfly and Monarch, both based in luton?? Have been offered job with thomson and also have interview with monarch so trying to decide which to go for..

Hello,
I can tell you Thomson averages-
Basic Starting- £10136
Allowances- £2.78 ph
Commision- depends on flights you do
Luton do not do long haul during the summer months (to the best of my knowledge) but the crew do get long haul in the winter either flying out of other bases or on ad hoc flights (eg cruise)
If you are doing 3 flights a week (and you will prob do 4 in the summer) you would be looking at clearing about £1100 in your pay check. Remember if you do any nightstops or long haul this will go up. As has been seen things can change quite alot and this may mean that Luton crew do loads of nightstops and the salary is much higher.

I got offered both jobs with Monarch & Thomsonfly, but taken themonarch one, start my training in 2 1/2 weeks!
At MAN the Monarch salary is £865 month plus £2.52 hr flight pay and commision(not sure what percentage)

Just wondering about the training with Thomson, is it all in east midlands? and i take it we are on basic salary from when we start?
How long does the training go on for?
And lastly are they ok to work for? as heard that monarch is older cabin crew??!
Still deciding which one to go to!

What made you choose monarch over thomson!? am still deciding to..
Do you think monarch will keep you on after the summer?
Also what was interview like, is it presentation stuff like the thomson?

i chose monarch because, i personally feel they are a better airline, they also offered me a place on their training course approx 1 week after gettin the job. With thomson they usually put every one in a holding pool and you dont know how long you'll be waiting for. I just wanted to start flying asap.
I'm only 18, so monarch dnt just take on older cabin crew, 2 of my firends have jst been offered positions and they too are only 18/19
The monarch interview was quite easy actually, we had to do a test which had a few maths question, you could use a calculator, geog questions, general 1st aid questions and stuff about monarch from the booklet you're supposed to read, i got 92%, then you have 2 short interviews, which are more like informal chats, they just ask you about yur jobs and what you like to do.
I didn't like the way we were treated by thomson at the recruitment day, they didnt even provide refreshments and we were there from 9-5. They didn't keep us informed about anything we were just waiting around all day

The Thomson training course lasts about 5 weeks- and if EMA is not your base while you are there you will recieve extra money in your pay packet- I think around £20 per night that you end up staying.
Unless it has changed the first 3 days are about admin, uniform etc. You then get 2 weeks of customer service, followed by security, IMC, generic and aircraft specific exams. It is a really tough training schedule, especially if you have to do the 737, 757 and 767 exams (which I did).
Once you are on the line though the company are really good to work for. Most of the people are friendly, the hours are great as you can only do 4 flights between paired days off and there is the chance to do trips after 3 months.
I have no frame of reference as I have never worked for Monarch but I know that I do enjoy going to work

No extra cash for training at EMA anymore but they do give a breakfast and dinner allowance of £18.95 for each night you're in the hotel so that makes up for it I guess. I'd have preferred the extra in my pay packet and I could have lived off pot noodles but its more than most airlines offer!

Yeah I know what you mean about the thomson day it was a lot of hanging about and not even water available! 
Might go to the interview on sunday now thanks for the info, just didnt really feel like doing another day like at the thomson one, but it doesnt sound to bad! was all the training for monarch in luton?
another quick question did you have to get a visa at the us embassy for monarch?
Was there like role play and presentations for monarch interview..

good thread! i was wondering about the pay during training for thomsonfly. i worked out we'll get about 500 that month on basic salary and am relieved they're paying for our food, but i'd also have preferred the money

I started at Thomson in January this year, got paid that first month, minus the first week of Jan (started on 8th) and that was just over £500, think it might have been nearer £600 to be honest, after that, with a full month on basic I've taken over £700 - not great but do-able for those first couple of months.
