Hi lukeylad,

Jst thought i would let u know i attended an open day recently and there were people who were under 21. basically they thanked them for coming and said they could stay for the information part of the day but they couldnt process their applicaiton because you had to be 21 to serve alochol onboard the plane. Not sure what happends if ur nearly 21 though

Anyways good luck to everyone headin for the newcastle open day.

Just to clarify guys, yes you do need to be 21 to be a cabin crew, that's part of the company-imposed rules (all to do with the service of alcohol).

However, you can still have your application processed and do the interviews, so long as you turn 21 before your expected graduation day. If you turn 21, say, within 8 weeks of your interview date, you should be alright.

Ju Ev- medicals

hi, I am currently in dubai.
Medicals before you leave- chest xrays, hearing test, eye test, general medical eg, height/weight/ever been seriously ill etc etc...
blood tests- ONLY for HIV and Iron blood count

then when you arrive here you don't have your medicals until 3 days after you land- make sure you don't take any cold medicines such as Lemsip/beechams, sorry don't know the international brand names- but you know what i mean- the powdered paracetemol stuff you add to hot water!
once you pass medicals then you can have them whenever you like. when you get accepted by ek they send you a list of certain drugs banned in the uae- coedine being the major one- used in some painkillers.

just make sure your doctor signs every single form correctly, and if possible, get all your injections done in your home country, and make sure they are still valid!!

Ju Ev

Thanks for the information about your Emirates recruitment experiences. Good luck! I hope you receive a phone call rather than an email.

NewCastle

Hey ,
Just came back from New Castle, thought i'd update you. It was nearly 135-150? I guess, quite unexpected. They devided into 2 groups, one went had an EK presentation of Video, QA and then handling of CV. I was in 2nd group. We went at 11:30, and the DVD player was not working by tht time (dont kno wat Lukelad fellas did to DVD) .

Anywyas, Jessica (one lady there) briefied us abt EK, Dubai and all. Then, we were told that they will just collect Cvs today, thn call back at 5pm today IF they want any of us to come for Assessment. Tomorrow will be assessment and frm Monday, Final interviews.

I came back, dont kno what I'm going to do if i get call. It was quite disappointed experience cuz in Frankfurt in recent months, they have been dealing with around 160 ppl for the assessment, dont kno wat happend this time.

Anyways , hope for the best.
Cheers

Question

Does Emirates employ cabin crew who previously worked as cabin crew for Emirates and decided they would like to apply again?

Yes Condor 2020 , EK do re recruit Ex-Emirates cabin crew. However each case will be individually looked at in respect of current age, the grade you were when you left and of course most importantly your personal records which show things like your reports and sickness.

I left and re joined and only had to fill in a 'rejoiner' application and I was allowed to rejoin with out any interviews so make sure you make that application a good one!!

It is a breeze the second time round as youve been through it all before and I found I acually enjoyed trainning school although depending on what grade you rejoin as you will be at training school for what seems like for ever after SEP and First Aid and then relevant grade training courses.

Good Luck and I hope you dont have to start again as a grade 2 !!!
