I flew with flyglobespan to YVR from MAN, on an outdated and clapped out 767-319ER wet leased from Neos Airlines of Italy, whilst the flight was incident free and the service was 'reasonable' I will not book with them again. I had been messed around several times with regards to booking and confirmation, not to mention my travel days were changed and it was upto me to find out myself from the travel agent that my flight day had been put back to another day because of 'consolidation of flights'. There was no communication from GSM about this and I felt very annoyed at having to find out this information for myself.
I have friends who live in Vancouver who regularly use the Zoom services to Manchester and I have heard many good things about the service and indeed the cabin crew, shame I never booked with them in the first place really.
I have also heard, though I do believe this to be third tales and hearsay, that Zoom are planning Liverpool to New York in place of GSM's woeful service. Is this true or on the cards so to speak, would be about time we had a decent airline give us the service we deserve

I did hear a rumour on CabinCrew.com that Zoom UK were expanding there base to Liverpool creating a Liverpool to JFK Service similar to the one flyglobespan are doing now.
Presumably this would be rather good news for us up north who want a good service from a decent airline! Can anyone shed some light onto this or is this just a false rumour courtesy of those great DJ's in Galley FM?

Hi everyone,
I have an assessment day with Zoom on October 3rd. I know a couple of other people have asked for information on what to expect on the day, but it seems nobody has replied. Just wondering if anyone can give any information on what I should read up about, or what I can expect on the day.
Also, I am going on holiday November 27th - 4th December, if I am successful, wil this be a problem?
Hope to read your replies soon.
Thanks.

I don't no much about the company , can anyone enlighten me? virgin is the airline I would really like to work for , but I have got through to the interview stage twice and got the rejection e-mail,

Test
Yes the test has got currency questions only two though and stock take questions etc. You will also be tested on the company like what terminal does it operate from at LGW and like who owns ZOOM uk, stuff like that.

NYC trips only?
Is it true that the new recruits will fly the NYC route only during the summer? Or are they gonna fly to San Diego and FLL as well? And what about Canadian routes, do Zoom UK LGW crew fly to Canada as well?

Zoom UK
I'm new to all of this, I'm looking into working with Zoom (cabin crew) but have been getting mixed views from people, some say it's a great company to work for, everyone is friendly, nice management etc, others are not so complimentary, one crew member I know is leaving zoom due to the 'managment and trainers'.
Is there anyone who can give an unbiased view?

The Zoom assessment day today was hideous if you are used to leading airlines and have come from a well supported environment especially. Candidates left sitting around for about an hour while the 3 "pickers" did something - though Lord knows what in the back ground. Have breakfast I, and a few others began to suspect.
Group size around 25 I suppose, majority of whom were young 20 year old fixed contract charter crew (I presumed) who my airline certainly would not hire if their lack of interest and skill in interacting with un-like individuals was much to go by.
Lightning speed un-supported by dvd/movie etc presentation on the company.
Unlike information I had specifically asked of Zoom before applying and attending, this is contract only to October.
Uninspired.
Complete waste of time.
Somewhere between broke US carrier charging a fee for a blanket and pillow and nondescript UK charter.
But, these are the views of people not in the above category.
Best of Luck, Maud.

I have to agree Zoom recruitment day was awful.
Being made to wait so long.... Extremely short introduction.
And the people that made it through to the final interview!
Makes me wonder, What are they thinking?!
For example: there was someone going to sleep at every opportunity - got through to the final interview!
And someone who for half the day didn't speak to anyone - got through to the final interview!
Thought the interviewers were observing!! Well they seemed to miss some pretty important points.
So if you want to get to the final stage my tips are
- Fall asleep at every opportunity
- Dont make an effort with anyone
They seem to go for that!
