Bored at BA???

Mate,

as many have mentioned before, you have no experience of life outside BA. I have been blessed to have flown for charters, cargo and corporate before i joined BA. And that experience has made me realise when I'm onto a good thing. Becareful, the grass is always greener!!! If you think you are going to have fun flying charters you are sadly mistaken!!! You have a lot of growing up to do....i dont mean it in a derrogoratory? sense but most people would kill to have the opportunity you do. Later on in life when you have a family and want stability you will shoot yourself for leaving. WW wont be that far off, but with your experience level you cant expect everything on a plate....you have to do your dues....Good Luck with what ever you choose to do but please think carefully!

You are on a crew bus with 5 men and women who have houses and kids. The conversation ALWAYS steers towards their families and homes, you, as the only young single one are left sitting there, completely outcast from everything. The only way you are involved in the conversation is when someone notices that you aren't saying much and tries to get you involved. Would someone who has posted something negative and hostile please tell me what is so wrong with wanting a few people to talk to about things that I am interested in...

I think a lot of people can empathise with what your saying, but the fact of the matter is that almost everyone has been in these positions in the working world. Most of us have had colleagues we find it hard to relate to but still have to work with - and they way people tend to do that is by finding a way to make it work.

That's true

i currently work with 3 men who are in the their mid 50s (i'm a 21 year old female!) I can't really relate to them but i still try and have a laugh and a joke. Maybe if you initiate conversations they'd probably be more than willing to talk about things other than children and mortgages. There must be some things in common - funny stories, films , music etc.

You should thank yourself lucky they only talk about kids and mortgages! i have to listen to how they're suffering from depression, debt, personal medical problems which i really don't want to know about, loss of sex life etc !

Maybe stick it out for a bit longer, things might improve and it would be a shame if you left impulsively and then regret it...and if things don't get better at least you can say you gave it your best shot!

Hi Chewy, sounds as if your really not that sure if you should leave or not. You wouldnt be on here if you were, so listen to that little voice and decide. You have plenty of leave and good concessions that can take you all over the world with whoever you so wish to have that fun your looking for. You will still find people your own age at another airline that you dont want to mix with. Bear in mind if it is a flying career you want and not just a job then one day you will know what you threw away, BA dont generally re employ crew who have left.

Thanks a lot folk, no idea what I'm gonna do yet, but I'm bearing in mind everything that's been said and will consider everything very carefully before I make a decision.
