css and other matters

it looks like the restructure of the css becomes a bit of a non issue as there is no money for redundancies now. so back to the drawing board.
silly me forgot that the 1 800 number to sign on supposed to be decommissioned. i did ring the so called decommisssioned number and guess what. it is now the pilots toll free number for calls to ops (sign on and other queries). rang my pilot mate to confirm and yeap user pay for cabin crew and a freebee for pilots. once again it shows the negotiating skills of our faaa. keep on bending over ,boys.

thats beside the point PRO, I agree where are the FAAA?
the pilots are on 5 times our wages and they get a free phone number, and we have to pay!
Doesnt make sense, but then neither does the JFK shuttle.

On that matter of things that don't make sense, how are things up in LHR Cart? I believe the sick leave is still up at astronomical levels. I also heard that when the next in take of crew occurs it’s going to be 26+ year old males only, due the chaos that has occurred with the hiring of these teenage pommy girls. It also looks like that there is going to be cross crewing between LHR and SYD based crews, so could really be interesting.

What happened ? Have the techies gorged themselves to the point of distraction???

What?? So SYD crew can learn how to run a cabin.......

Geoff, don't tell us your "self serving" little experiment isn't working out too well??
My heart bleeds........................

I knew you couldn't go a week without wanting to post about your favorite base!!!!

1,Sick leave has had a considerable improvement with last weekend recording just 4 sickies for the 3 days. Wow even surprised me it was that low.

2,No there is no cross crewing on the cards, can you imagine the carnage, I would be sacked the first day for refusing to allow SYD crews wheel chairs in the galley.

3,There is a real mix in the last intake but still seems a little one sided towards females but we compete against 13 other airlines who recruit in the UK.

4,In the "Times" this week Willy Walsh has been quoted as saying that BA will be bringing in a large broom of reforms and guess who is firmly in his sites first up??, yes BA cabin crew batton down the hatches.

I suppose that would please you peanutpoosher ?
More, "new style airline management" wasn't the quote.

Funny, Iv'e read comments on the BA thread suggesting that willie DOESN'T have it in for aircrew.
Much the same direction as from the well respected Rod Eddington according to Willie himself.

Those of us at QF can only dream of management with skills beyond slash, cut, rip, bully and burn

Yeah Yeah

I actually couldn't give a fcuk about BA, it's Qantas I work for and I'll let BA crew deal with BA stuff.

You and your sorry sad ******** friends just debate any crap that comes into your little life on this site and then you return to the old faithfull.

"Get with the program because boy it leaving you behind" you'll be obsolete soon".

You just don't get it do you ??? it's not your company and you don't like it leave.

You seem to think being a flight attendant is next to brain surgery and QC.
It's not and you are only worth what you can be replaced for.

PS Don't cry

Sorry Peanut Puncher but you don't work for Qantas Pty Ltd any more and you never will, you work for a subsidiary.

Believe me cross crewing is on the cards but Australian based CSM’s and CSS’s would be crewing the flights with a mix of Australian and English based crew. Anyway don’t worry you wouldn’t get the sack because Australian based crew would tell you to go F**k yourself!

Ha ha what a joke

You were one of the "it's all but official - the LHR base is closing" wnakers that posted on this site.

It's not closing it's here to stay and I hope it runs right over the top of arses like you two.

You would never know, you have never worked here and if you did I bet you would actually enjoy the change from the same old, sorry same very very old crew rubbish.

Your two very small fish in a quickly getting smaller pond.

I asked the question to the base general manager 2 hrs ago about cross crewing and he said not in the next 12 months a least if not ever but it hasn't been raised with him.

So another BS story from the hate crew, how come nobody else has heard of this cross crewing story ????

Well said Cart! And yes I did get you confused with Cart Elevator.

Hey Peanut Puncher I love how you go running off to your base manager after you hear something on this forum.

'Mr Manager, Mr Manager guess what! guess what!!!'

Just goes to show how insecure you really are.

A reply for Speedbirdhouse

the well respected Rod Eddington
Anybody who worked under this person at Ansett has absolutely no respect for him.

Those of us at QF can only dream of management with skills beyond slash, cut, rip, bully and burn
What the? He sold the flight kitchen and put all of those people out of airline employment, he sold Diners Card which was a cash cow for AN diversified away from the aviation business. He enacted the compulsory redundancy clause for very many employees network wide, no choice to stay - you're out. I personally worked with men and women of 25+ years service who were mercilessly put out of work with no other motivation other than reducing costs. He created a culture of fear about who was going to lose their job next.

Just goes to show the MODERATOR is correct when he states this thread contains "an almost total absence of verifiable facts"

Do you have any more enlightenment for us

Just like to keep the truth in it unlike your onesided BS.
I love beating you over the head with the truth, so when is the base closing ? and when does the cross crewing start ? and how many people have resigned ? and who kicks who's arse month in month out in CSS rankings

Please don't start me or I'll whip you to death.
Now go back to your swing guide or putting mat little man.

Tip eal in facts not rumour BS and maybe you'll get somewhere in life.

This is becoming even more tedious than usual. peanut pusher and Pro Golfer 69 take a break from the name calling (voluntary) or else take a break from the name calling (enforced). Your choice.

flugenluft,

my comparison was with what Eddington achieved at BA not with the basket case that was Ansett. Surely even you are aware of Abeles "Noah's Ark" [two of every type] style of mismanagement.

Eddington has managed to maintain recruiting FAs in the UK non stop[according to this forum] for the last two years.
His greed was not so much that he had to look to third world countries for offshore crew beyond the need for language speakers.

Contrast if you will with dixon's actions.
Plenty of recruiting as long as it's casual, fixed term, offshore and exploitative.

dixon is nothing more than a self serving prique and it pains me to see the environment staff endure under his tyranical tenure. Morale????? There is hardly a semblance left operationally from anyone that I see.

What was it that was said by another staff member in defence of themselves the other day on another unrelated thread ?
"Look, I hate the company as much as the next person".

Slash, cut, rip, bully and burn is all there is in the way of creativity at qantas and it is getting beyond a joke. This 85 year old company and it's staff deserve so much better.

------------------

peanutpoosher,

looking for the truth from qf cabin crew management??
What planet are you on.................?????????

Whether AN was a basket case or not (I don't necassarily disagree with you), it's the management style of Eddington I was referring to.

Under Rod at Ansett, casual cabin crew were scoped and agreements written for the first time in domestic. Overseas cabin crew bases were opened in HKG, TPE, JKT, KUL, SHA making them almost a quarter of the Ansett Intl crew numbers. It was hidden behind the "cultural/language" requirement yet the vast majority of the Aussie crew had second languages. So is that not greed as described by you? Crew in SHA were on a fifth of the Aussie wage. Is that not exploitative as described by you? As for morale, don't even go there!! Ansett international quite hastily made redundant very many Aussie cabin crew during the Asian financial crisis, yet not one foreign crewmember lost theirs. Not to mention every employee in the company being put on notice their jobs were being looked at.

If anything, Dixon learnt everything he knows from Rod Eddington. I know the above flies in the face of your view of Eddington, it is however the truth.

Grrr Curtains for QF

Agree.................those ex Ansett/BA morons have been running amok for the last 18 months - the result -the lowest ever morale across all bases all divisions EXCEPT LHR (sic!!!) of course!!!!!!!!!

Another example came when the CSM on my last trip told us at Briefing that we have to keep all curtains open between Y/C and J/C on all Aircraft-so that a Lone Ranger & Tonto can have a clear view of the aisles-WHAT THA!!!!!??????? You have got to be kidding we all said. No-fact .

Who the hell dreampt this one up????

Imagine sitting on the 744 on the right hand side aft of the J/C galley(during a night sector )-bright lights, crew working in galleys ( preparing for the other debacle these lunatics from BA/AN have thrust upon us vis a vis Room Service b'fast).

SOMEONE NEEDS TO SHAKE THESE PEOPLE TO MAKE THEM REALISE THAT ALL OF THESE CHANGES ARE FINE FOR THEM TO GLOAT OVER WHILST SIPPING ON THEIR LATTE'S .....BUT ON AN AIRCRAFT.........YOU'RE DREAMING!!@$#$%$%^%$#@&^%&$%$@@

....................any way if any of you Turkeys on QCC/1 are reading this-let me say-NO ONE WILL BE LEAVING THE CURTAINS OPEN ON NIGHT SECTORS.

Wake up....... a just for once why not come out on line and objectively see how our workplace operates.
