Security and cabin tidy rules
UK airline security department I know allows gash (rubbish) to be returned from down route to UK with no security checks in rear galley because it is claimed that airport secuirty is so good that there is little or no risk of a "device" getting through and disturbingly commented that "even if it did, it is in the right place at the back of the aircraft" !
Any similar policies at your airline?

why should it be security checked if its being brought back to the uk? surely its the rubbish collected from the outbound flight, so no security threat. as its already done one flight. But most airlines dispose of gash down route anyway
