jumpseats on GBAirways...

Hi Guys,

Does anyone the GBAirways policy on allowing use of cabin jumpseats on it's flights?
I am a Purser for BA and am trying to get to GIB on Wednesday but the flight is full.

Any info appreciated.

p.s: Does anyone know how many spare cabin jumpseat they are likely to have on an A320?

Hi there

Hi !

GIB's are operated with 4 crew (unless supernumary crew onboard, lots of training going on currently) , thus 2 spare cabin crew jump seats in rear galley.
Jump Seats are usually authorised by the crew (with the exception of 1 or 2 miserable people in the company).

Good luck, enjoy the rock and let's hope for No Shows !

If its available and the crew are happy you can have a cabin jumpseat, provided you have your BA ID with you. Unfortunately you wont be able to get a flight deck seat as they are only available to GB staff.

Think its pretty much the same as BA's rules - hope you get on ok.

RE the use of F/D Jumpseats. Obviously the Flight attendants can be "cleared to enter the F/D" after a 4 week training course.

But...... I was wondering if any UK jet operator allowed the Captain or FO to take their partener/wife on the F/D jumpseat?

If not why?

It's not up to the Capt nor his/her employer it is a Department of Transport instruction to ALL airlines. Guidelines as to who are allowed f/d access is set and not flexible.
