The only reason unions make deals with companies these days is that, come July this year, Howard will have control over both houses of Government.

An inferior EBA is better than an inferior AWA anyday.

I am glad you made it in! You must be over the moon. When do you start training? I start on MONDAY 8:30am. Can't Wait!!

Were you given the 18th April start date? or is there more classes after that?

Rollz... looks like we are going to be in the smae grroup. I am starting on the 18th as well! They are flying me down early in the morning, so I think day one is going to be exceptionally tiring. I have already found a place to live, albeit a bit far out of town, so it's all good.

Looking forward to catching up mate!

Also - big thanks to JBFlyer. It was a very very big night after I found out!!

are they not supplying your accommodation while you're in training? you have to find your own?

My interpretation is that AnyGivenSunday99 was offered (an accepted) a Sydney Based position, hence the move.

Yeah, it is a Sydney based MAM position, and they told me from the outset that althought they would fly me down, I would have to look after my own accom even through training. I am not too fazed though, as I have lots of friend who are happy for me to sponge off them for a while!!

Does anyone have any idea what I should expect from the training? I am sure I will have to do a bit of swimming and stuff, but have no idea what to expect.....

mattw

Mattw, the only good thing I heard from your post was that you are over in short haul, your posts infuriated me, people like you erode our conditions.
QANTAS is a successful business, yes I agree, but is people like myself that have made it that way, they had been employing people with views and opinions, people like you are DRONES.
