Talking application attempts?

I was just wondering how many attempts it took all the Cabin Crew on here to work for an airline and what your experiences were!!!

Thumbs up

Sometimes it takes a while...some people wait years.
Ive been flying 3 years and it took me a good year to be successful, 3 big interviews, bumped out of my first and then got through with the other 2.
Dont give up, see each interview as a lesson and enjoy them aswell, meet other candidates and stay in touch, trading info is priceless in this business. Lots of people said I couldnt do it, kids and shiftwork dont mix etc...but i did and i am and i love it.
Keep Trying!

Back in 1996 I applied to about eight airlines before I was successful. Got through to the final stage of Virgin and failed.Britannia, Airtours, Air 2000 etc....... the same outcome. I just looked on the letter for that big long word "unfortunately" to know it was not to be.
If you are determined and can draw experience from the knock backs that you get, then I believe you will achieve your goal. Preparation is key to a good interview. If you are new to this industry and need some specific questions answered I am sure you cand find info using the search function on this forum. Otherwise PM me and I or others here will help you out.

I guess it ws my first attempt - I applied to 3 airlines and got to different stages with each

One (admitedly my 3rd choice) I wasn't successful in the group format

another I felt I did brilliantly at the group assessment thing and had to return at a later date for a final interview - I may aswell of just not bothered as it seemed as that it'd been decided prior to me getting there that I was going to be unsuccessful - although I was told something and I'm glad in some respects that I didn't get the job, I'm more annoyed that the issues they pulled me about in the interview weren't picked up at the beginning of the recruitment process

and another - probably the hardest (in my opinion, due to the number of hurdles to jump) I was successful

I have applied to Virgin Blue-cabin crew/ground crew, Qantaslink, Qantas, Australian Airlines, Jetstar and Emirates. Got rejected from Virgin Blue twice. Got through to final interview for ground crew-then rejected. Virgin cabin crew- rejected after assessment day. Jetstar-rejected after assessment day. Qantas- passed assessment day, passed medical, passed recent panel interview and was offered a position which I had to unfortunatley decline Now just waiting on the shortlist, hoping that Qantas will call and offer me something else. Or maybe Emirates will ring, doubt it though my photos were not best. Am thinking about having some professional photos done and then apply to Etihad, Emirates and Gulf.

First attempt for me as well

Prior to joining my airline, I had worked in the City of London for 14 1/2 years, so when I applied to be Cabin Crew I didn't really expect to get a job, let alone an interview.

I only applied to the one airline, they gave me an interview and the next day I got a phone call saying 'we want you'

Don't get disheartened if you get a few knock backs,i've found that i've always got the job when its been a man thats interviewing me,but when it's a women it's a totally different story, but thats just my experience.
Good luck,
Summer
