BY Open Day @ MAN this weekend

Hello All,

Is anyone going to the BY Open Day's this weekend @ MAN? Or has anyone been to the previous ones?

I'm going to the one on Sunday - wanted some info on what to expect, and also if anyone can shed some light on the content of the Maths Paper please?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers,

Stu

Open Day

Iain,

There was about 100+ people at the open day in MAN so be prepared for lots of waiting around - once you have registered they ask you to complete some Referencing Forms - this is for your airside i.d if your successful - after a long wait a group of 24 is called up 2 groups of 12, they brief you on what they are going do which is:

1 Group exercise each group is given something different, I think there were 3/4 variations - you have to work as a group to come up with a solution to the task - all the time the Trainers are watching you and making notes and how you are interacting with others.

Once you have completed the Group Test your then taken in to an exam style room where you will sit the maths paper - there are 12 q's and it is not set out like the papers on the Website - they are Addition, Subtraction and Currency Conversion...some were harder than others and there are some trick questions thrown in - you have 20 mins to complete the test.

After these tests it's back to waiting around to see how you get on - about 1hr, then names and numbers are called for your group - the first group that were called in were told that they hadn't been successful and that they would have to leave - then the next set of people were called and they we were told we had passed and were going through for a 2-1 interview!

Unfortunately because there were so many who had attended the Open Day and my group were the last to sit the tests - all of the Interview slots had been filled for yesterday - we have therefore been asked to attend an interview at EMA - I think it may be on 17/11 when the next open day is - but they have said they will write/call to confirm this.

One thing I will say is that all of the BY Crew and Trainers were all lovely, they really put you at ease - but remember they will be watching everything you do from theminute you walk in the room to the second you walk out!

I hope this helps you a little - if you or anyone else has any questions then give me a shout (PM)

Cheers,

Stu

P.s If anyone reads this who has had an interview after the open day session, can you let me know what types of questions you were asked please - thanks.
