update...

Hi to all PPruners

Well I thought it was about time to give an update on whats been happening with me. It has been a while since I wrote.

Well after a fantastic year with EZY, I have decided to make the move to go back home to Oz. I handed in my resignation last month and leave on October 30th for sunny Perth.

Although I have absolutely LOVED working for EZY and have been able to live my dream of being crew, I have had a very tough year outside of work. Unfortunately coming home to Crawley night after night, only earning enough to break even each month, and being half a world away from family and friends - has really taken a huge strain on me. I am finding it very hard not to bring these problems in the work place, cos afterall you can only smile for so long right

So, I have decided to go home to Perth where I can start to set up a life. Get a house and a car and start the whole process of re-applying for Ozzie airlines. At the end of the day - you sometimes need to decide on priorities and knowing I don't want to settle in the UK permanently, working for a UK airline has moved to bottom of the list.

Despite having to leave flying for the meantime, I am determined that I will come back to the job I love, whether it be with AAC in the near future or another airline. At the end of the day I will be happy at home, and I am sure there are many of you that can completely understand where I am coming from!

I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone that has given me support in one form or another whilst I have been here in London, and I will let you all know how I get on back in the Land of Oz.

Anyone with any recent info on recruitment back home, please gimme a shout.

Cya soon

Hannah

Hi Craic....

Just wanted to say an early "welcome home" from a fellow Perth-ite

I too have heard murmurs of XR and national Jet recruitment - a bloke in my flying class works for National doing ramp work for Q - he told me a couple weeks ago both co's are still looking, you may get lucky post-Xmas with Qantas, may be that some leave if the conditions aren't what they want.... and yes, XR are getting bigger and better all the time, I'm sure they'd snap up someone like you who has experience, and also has been O/S (unlike me who can't speak another language guess I'll have to settle for catering or something...)

Anyway, have a safe trip home, and you're just in time... the weather is BEAUTIFUL and the beaches are calling!!!

Cheers,

Sky

Craic!!! Nooo!!! You're leaving me! I wish you'd come to BA, I think you may have had a better time, and it's easier to live on the pay as well. I'm gonna stay on here, I'm actually really enjoying it now, plus I just put my name down on the long haul LHR transfer list, so I wanna give that a go! Have a very safe trip back home, and think of me when you're enjoying the sun!

Am going back for 28 days in Jan/Feb, CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Welcome home little possum

I know things haven't been easy for you in the UK and the delay of AAC is disapointing for all, however at the risk of sounding like a mental... that eclipse I told you about on the 14th is shaking things up career wise for all, then another on the 28th.
So over the next one to three weeks opportunities will present themselves to you as never before.

Things will work out, you will see.
I feel you have made the right decision for your personal growth.
Go forward and be thankful for the wonderful experience you have just had.

Put that application in to NJ! All will be well.

Craic 1510

Thanks for the compliment! It's a real pity things didn't quite work out for you in the UK but I'm sure you've gained invaluable experience during your time with EZY and wish you all the best on your return to Oz.

Tudor

PS, PM me and let me know how you're getting on and hope you have a good night on Tuesday - sorry I can't be there!

Hey!

Craic1510

Please do apply to us at NJS/QantasLink. To you and others out there reading, we're recruiting in December for Jan starts in QantasLink Perth base - not sure about other bases but probably Carins and Darwin too. Now's the time to apply, and to all the boys out there, don't be afraid! We seriously need more males like myself crewing our flights and you are definately welcome to be interviewed...trust me! NJS is NOW an equal opportunity employer... age or gender doesn't matter!
My guess interviews in Perth.

Galley Power,

How would one go about applying for QF Link? I responded to an ad for NJS and got the form, but a guy who works ramp for them told me that would only get me into NJS/charter. He said if I wanted to get into Link I'd have to go thru Link/mainline first, and that the Link girls/guys do both....

So how do I apply?

PM if you like.....

Thanks heaps!!!

Hi Skysista,
I too work for NJS.
Your informer on the ramp was somewhat correct, but a little misinformed.
QFlink/NJS has bases in CNS, DRW & PER.
If you're willing to move you can go straight to the link in CNS/DRW.
If you're extraordinarily lucky you can go straight to the link in PER. Most people in PER go to charter, do 1 - 2 years there and then get to transfer to PER QFLink. There is a transfer list for PER and people get mighty p*$$ed off when they list is ignored for new recruits.
We have NOTHING to do with mainline and applying with QFlink direct won't get you in with us.
Don't let the prospect of going to charter put you off. It's a whole lot of fun over there and you get to go o/seas. They also get most weekends off. The FAAA has just secured them a new agreement with much better pay and conditions.
So fill in your NJS form, send it off and give it a go. It's worth it. We have a great bunch of guys and gals working together and have a lot of fun.
Goodluck!!

Thanks CT,

That makes it clearer for me!

Have a couple questions for you, but will PM if that's okay as I'm getting off the thread topic somewhat....

Craic, maybe we will end up at NJS together. I think it'd be great to work with fellow Ppruners - you all sound like a lovely bunch!!!

Hope you've managed to hit the beach since you've been back - it's lovely!
