What should I do QF Fixed term or Jetstar?

Well when it rains it pours!

Today I opened my email and Jetstar has invited me in for an interview. I am a QF fixed termer and loving it but May 15 th. is not far and theres no guaruntee of full time but all the crew I fly with say don't worry they will keep you.
Should i go for it with Jetstar or not? I know there is the chance i won't get it but if i do? What then?
When I tell them I am a Qantas F/T flight attendant will they reject me?
Any thoughts on what I should do!
Decline interview or call them and explain or go for it and hope they want full timer ????

Are you long haul or short haul QF? If you are short haul I would stay there as you will probably be kept on.

If your long haul then I would go for Jetstar. If the LHR base goes ahead you will not be kept on as they are over crewed already.

There shouldn't be a problem at the Jetstar interviews, they will probably just explain you would need to quit QF before starting training at Jetstar, which you would expect anyway.

Good luck.

I would go to the Jet* interviews if your roster allows it. Go through the process and see what happens. As you know Jet* are receiving a lot of A320's so that means a lot of training schools. Cabin Crew management be it QF, Jet*, Australian or QFLink will not hold it against you because you are on fixed term. It happens everyday, people are just not available for schools at short notice ie early aircraft delivery etc etc. Once you are in just try to push your ground school date back and by that time you will know whats going on with QF long haul. Hope this helps.

AIRBUST,

I'd suggest go through the whole interview process and see where it takes you.

If you do get offered a position, then you can make a decision then. You never know, you may get offered a position at the time your QF contract expires and the timing will be perfect.

Go for it and good luck

Hey BUSTY

Hope you are enjoying longhaul.
As suggested by SYD GIRL
I'd go through the processes and then make a decision.
There is too much uncertainty within the QF longhaul division to not have a back up plan.
Drop me an email and let me know how you are doing.
