Talking TSSOV is in!

What a very lucky little possum you are.
Many many have tried before you and missed out.
Please be thankful for this opportunity and take the study seriously.
Training is full on, yet you are given a great deal of help and support from the trainers.
Form a study group or get at least a study partner and you will do well.
Congrats... Now your life will truely begin, you would find it difficult to find a better job

annoyed :(

hello all

I STILL havent heard back from MAM after I have sent 3 e-mails over the past 2 days.

Its really frustrating, because I probably wont be able to go now, even if they do e-mail me back because I wont be able to get a flight.

I feel like I have missed my chance. Why do they make it so hard for people who genuinely want to become F/A's???

But then again, they may e-mail me tomorrow with all the details. I have NO information whatsoever, so I cant even just turn up.

Sorry to post such a depressing message, and congratulations to everyone who has gotten in so far, and thanks to RaverFlaver and west4u who answered my earlier question.

I am prepared to fly to MEL as many times as they want me to, and even move interstate if I was offered a position, but it doesnt look like its going to happen.

Oh well, onward and upward as they say

so where to from now? I dont want to be in the same position as jb_flyer and apply for 2 positions......

THE TRUTH

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I don`t want to rain on your parade but....log onto
www.faaa.net and read the letter(Dream Shattered)written by someone who has just finished training. This is how your future employer is going to treat you. This causes me a great deal of despair.I am truly sorry you are being deceived.

jb flyer,

Don't worry i think i'm screwed too.........I just finished training with qantas for L/H fixed term, though i don't want it now.

I did my MAM assesment while i was still waiting to hear back from qf, then i got called to do a panel interview (with MAM) but i couldn't make it so i asked them if i could reschedule, they yes and got back to me after i finished training with QF and i went for my panel last week. I was going to mention something to them but thought maybe it wasn't the best idea.

My refs were checked on Friday so i'm still waiting, what should i do????? why can't things just be simple and easy.

WG

Me again,

I\'ve just had a flash back, on the last day of training when we received our contracts and our so called "uniforms" we were all pretty upset so someone asked the lady from Qantas if we could apply to other positions within QF such as jetstar or MAM and she said and i quote "go for your lfe". She wouldn\'t say that if we couldn\'t would she????

WG,

I dont think you will have a problem, your refs have been checked etc, and QF have said that you can apply for other positions.

I dont think any of my refs have been checked yet... unless my old boss is playing a trick on me (like he has before!!)

I think tomorrow could bring pleasant surprises for all of us.

Heres Hoping...

Jb,

I think its worse for me, they have spent all that money training me and they expect me to work during the strikes (which i'm not doing), i reckon they might maybe be a bit pee'd off.

Hope you are right about those suprises......have you done you medical yet? What a nasty old boss, maybe give him a call again and see if you can get the truth out of him.

Also didn't west4u apply to both QF L/H and MAM?? he got the job with mam, west maybe you could clarify.................

No medical yet.

I had the assesment day, was contacted few days later for the panel, Had the panel on 30 Sep, and now nothing.

I know it was much later then all your panel interviews etc... but I hear the PER tarining is this month, so we are fast running out of days.

Training starts VERY soon hehe. i think ill be bumping into west4u I am very happy and am going to take this very seriously. From what ive read/heard thraining is an amazing 5 weeks with everything shoved down your throat. I will try my best.

For those of you still waiting... hang in there... i dont have ANY insight into what goes on at QCCL4. My humble advice would be to stay positive and calm.

i try never to count chickens...

side note - how funny was last weeks episode of People Like Us - Airline Pilot? hehehe

pay

Have a look at www.wagenet.gov.au for salary.. type in Maurice Alexander Management and you can read the whole enterprise agreement to have a look at the types of conditions.. from memory its something like $23.00 per hour worked... you can also look at what all the airlines pay in comparison.

Today I contacted Qantas and charmed my way past the receptionist (begged is more the word ) and got onto Recruitment.

There I said to the lady that I wanted to withdraw my application for the Fixed Term LH position ( bit my tounge before I said scabreaker...). I then asked if it affected my MAM application, and was put through to another lady. After a bit of a chat it conspired that in a usual world, they would (with my authority) send my file to MAM anyway, as I have already interviewed etc... so she is going to notify MAM about my decision etc. So I am about to email Wei at MAM and explain that I am released, and see what that comes back as.

I think the run may be a little late for this training round, but on past experiences from people here short notice is not unusual... This Sat there is another Assesment Day in PER, so maybe because of the poor turn out last time they may combine 2 training schools, or perhaps I will make it to the next one!

Whats a little more waiting??? Some QF people were on a shortlist for 18 months... so whats another month or 2?

Ah you have to smile sometime!

Hang in there Jb! My friend still hasen't got her training date yet so it looks like Perth is on hold for a bit. I'd say you're right about them waiting to create a larger class from this latest round. It didn't sound like they got many from the last one.

You've done the right thing by withdrawing your f/t application. At least your application is being brought to the top of the pile and they know you're keen. My bet is that you'll get a call soon.

I was one of the one's on a QF waitlist for 14 months then had my application transferred to MAM to finally get the job so I know what you're going through. They hold your sanity in their hands!

THATS THE BEST NEWS I HAVE HAD ALL DAY!!

Sorry for the yell.... i dont ususally shout in small rooms

There were only 6 from 18 turn up to the assesment day in PER on 25 Sep 04. And my calculations estimate only about 4 got paneled on 30 Sep 04.

So maybe too small a class....

Heres hoping!!!!!

I love you luvflyin!

(In a completley non sexual way of course)

Thats great news JB, i've got a good feeling about you.

I think i might withdraw my application from QF L/H too, i don't want it to affect my MAM application.

Tuesday night gives 1 more working day for the call (can anybody hear desperation speaking??)

Latest email says that MAM have not got my paperwork from QANTAS yet, and I will be emailed when they know any more. Its frustrating, because if I would have known this to be a problem, I would have retracted the LH application soon after the MAM panel. Oh well. If worse comes to worse, I can train with the next class (Assesment days this weekend in PER). I will juyst have to live on 2 minute noodles for some more time

One more working day... Well if its Tuesday night, could be 2 more working days.... better pack my bag "just in case"
