Loganair steward suspended
From the BBC:
Air steward suspended
A Loganair air steward has has been suspended amid allegations that he was unfit to carry out his duties on a flight from Orkney to Inverness.
The man was replaced when the flight reached Inverness and the plane continued to Edinburgh with a different steward on board.
Loganair has declined to give any details on the incident on Wednesday but confirmed that a member of staff had been suspended while investigations are carried out.
The airline said it operated a zero-tolerance policy on alcohol and substance abuse.
<shrugs>... well it's news. Rather surprised; always been impressed with Loganair folks. Willie Logan was a real Local Hero where I grew up. And a Loganair captain gave one of the more memorable PAs I've heard... with a planeload of 'merry' oilworkers heading south, he had occasion to mention in his briefing that 'horns must be removed for takeoff' (they were wearing 'party' Viking helmets!).
