LGW is, im sure, a great BA base with great crews...........however morale is low and im not sure how it can be realistically raised - the chances of terms and conditions being brought in line with those at EF LHR are pretty slim, and would take a long time to come into effect. Terms and conditions are better at LHR EF - thats no secret. We have 1, 2 and 3 day trips all over europe - we bid for our rosters so if you prefer just groundstops then thats what you bid for - if you want 3 day trips, then bid for those. They aim for a 60% roster satisfaction - you normally get most of what you want. I believe EF LGW bid for their rosters too, but on a seniority basis - i could be wrong. We dont bid according to seniority, so it doesnt matter if youve got 1 months service or 30 years. If youve got the choice of LGW and LHR, i would take LHR - you'll see more of europe and get paid more for doing it.
Happy flying!!!!!

It feels so good!
I am doing my training at LGW for the eurofleet.
I know some people trash EF LGW for some reasons that I've already picked up, but to be honest I've NEVER see such a nice bunch of people.
Starting from the trainers, they're great! Very prepared (at least it's the impression they give!) and good humoured. We actually have a laugh in the classroom as well.
We're soon going to LHR for our SEP and the conditions aren't that bad.
Training paid, at LHR hotel paid, away from base paid, nights away paid all on top of the basic. Never had this before I feel privileged!
In PE we were paid 5 (five) EUROS per day during ground training and NO flight allowances/commissions while flying without licence as SNY (training on the job they used to call it, pity I did 400 hours!).
In air2bob it was only basic pay.
The trainers are really there gto help you, if you don't understand, if you have any kind of problem, they're very approachable and love to have a laugh.
You might not have the same "benefits" as other airlines but still u can bid for what you want and they said that the success rate is very high if you KNOW HOW.
They give you the feeling of being very professional, and at the end of the day that's what I am looking for in a company: professionalism.
If you're about to start a course with BA I am sure you'll have a great time. I am completely knackered (we do start at 8) but very satisfied. Such a good feeling
I know I will get attacked for this by some people, but I am just being honest.
Ciao

hi
take a look at threads on BA and also BA training my experiences by Kempus... both provide a comprehensive insight to what you can expect right from interview stage through to training and flying...there is also info on salary expectations...
good luck in whatever you decide

with the bidding system at BA you are given access to a system called Carmen...
here you allocate points to days off, trip requests, finish times etc...
you do this for each months roster and it gives you a certain degree of control over your life...
i cant explain it any better than this...
anyone else help????

Quickie - BA QUEST Centre - what does it mean?
Hi Guys,
I'm a new hire at BA and I'm trying to find out what QUEST actually stands for. Any ideas please? Search didn't come up with anything!
Cheers,
