Info Day in Melb March 24th 2004

Greetings,

I attended the "info day" held in melbourne on the 24th, just wondering if anyone has heard anything back yet? I found it quite informative, although was unusually nervous as i didn't know what to expect. Would very much like to become a member of emirates CC within the next six months however many of the posts i have read have me thinking maybe it's best to trust in myself and not get too caught up in other's opinions as some peoples' perspectives i've found quite off putting. what one person says seems to be contradicted by another?

a few are encouraging however from what i see, yes personality, background and perhaps a bit of luck, prayer and patience may or may not get me through. it seems with all the expense one must go to, to present well, have current 1st aid certificate, valid passport etc, it's really like gambling on a horse and i'm not usually one that gambles. i already have a good job however this has always been my dream and i feel i have all the attributes that are required however from many posts it depends what they are looking for in that moment?

Anyway, these are just a few thoughts of mine. i would also appreciate it if anyone who has been successful and is now a part of emirates CC could give me a bit of info on the process they went through, for example is it different each time round? I was also wondering if it is a good idea to do the online application as well. on the day we all individually submitted our CV's and were told not to bother registering online? the reason i'm asking is that i was told that it's better to register online as those who do, tend to hear back before those who hand it in person. is this true or does it make no difference? i figured it would be more favourable to hand it in person as they at least get to see you and make physical contact with you which is the sole purpose for me attending the info day in the first place. i was also told not to bother about that as it was a waste of time - i didn't find it a waste of time at all as the the information was useful to me and i also met some lovely people and made some new friends.

Regards,

I was also at the Emirates info day, it was quite interesting, but sooooo many people were there. I was sitting next to a girl that flew all the way over from New Zealand for the open day so i presume that she would have got an interview.

I haven't heard anything back as yet, but I though it was best to also submit my application online which i did last week. Apparently you hear back in 5 to 6 weeks if your in or not so it's worth a try.

Good luck with your quest for Emirates let me know how you go!
