Question JETCONNECT recruitment

Talk about town is that Jetconnect are starting a new wave of hiring early in the new year, as apparently there are another two 737's on their way to possibly be CHCH baed - Does anyone know any specifics about this, and if there's any substance to it?
Opinions from current Jetconnect staff on how you are finding the company would also be appreciated; as im looking at applying in the near future.

Just wondering,

Is JetConnect 100% owned by Qantas? Its just i dont remember it being mentioned as part of the Qantas 'Flying Companies' when Dixon announced the restructure earlier this year.

Thanks

JetConnect

Hey there,

I hope i can shed some light, My bestfriend from my tourism college just got into Jetconnect in November, and is startng her first flight on Sunday this week, (14 DEC).
She got paid for her training, they get Hair, makeup, travel, dry-cleaning and away from base allowance. If you are based in AKL you fly to SYD, CHC and WLG (BNE is to be added in the future i hear). And yes you do layover in SYD.
Base salary i hear is 24-26 K NZD per year, not including salaries.
Now recruitment is to be every month of next year. They have alredy recruited the DEC (which she graduated in) and JAN classes. In JAN the FEB and MAR classes wil be recruited, though the two new aircrafts are news to me.
From what i heard, fact, if you are interviewed in CHC you are based in CHC, if you are interviewed in AKL you are based in AKL and if you are interviewed in WLG you are based in WLG.

She has told me that the company is becoming a bit skimmpy on the three trolly bags they supply, so they may have to start charging for them....LOL!!

Training is difficult she has told me, but she passed with flying colours, and she also said they are very strict on height, and hoe you dress (No coloured hair, no extreme makeup). She said they are very strict esp. on the Emergency demonstration.

If you need anything else, dont hesitate to ask, i shall contact her for you.

All the best, might see you at the interviews, or online one day

Hi,

I'm working with Jetconnect, just wanted to clarify some of the above comments for you...

1. We currently have no CHC base for cabin crew, only AKL and WLG.
2. A majority of the trans-tasman flying is done from the WLG base crew.
3. We do not layover at any Australian port, we only currently overnight in AKL/WLG/CHC (depending on where you are based).
4. Base salery and allowance details are viewable on the cabincrew.staffcv.com website that you apply through.
5. We have the same luggage allocation as Qantas Australia.
6. Training is in AKL and is very Emergency Procedure focused. Height 160cm-183cm. Grooming details as per Qantas standards.
7. We are 100% owned by QF.

Its a good company to work for, we have a great team and a fairly good variety in our work.

Hope to see you with us one day.

Yes Jetconnect is 100% owned by QF and yes it was mentioned in the company restructure but it is buried under regional. The General Manager of regional airlines also looks after Jetconnect.
