I hope i can shed some light, My bestfriend from my tourism college just got into Jetconnect in November, and is startng her first flight on Sunday this week, (14 DEC).
She got paid for her training, they get Hair, makeup, travel, dry-cleaning and away from base allowance. If you are based in AKL you fly to SYD, CHC and WLG (BNE is to be added in the future i hear). And yes you do layover in SYD.
Base salary i hear is 24-26 K NZD per year, not including salaries.
Now recruitment is to be every month of next year. They have alredy recruited the DEC (which she graduated in) and JAN classes. In JAN the FEB and MAR classes wil be recruited, though the two new aircrafts are news to me.
From what i heard, fact, if you are interviewed in CHC you are based in CHC, if you are interviewed in AKL you are based in AKL and if you are interviewed in WLG you are based in WLG.
She has told me that the company is becoming a bit skimmpy on the three trolly bags they supply, so they may have to start charging for them....LOL!!
Training is difficult she has told me, but she passed with flying colours, and she also said they are very strict on height, and hoe you dress (No coloured hair, no extreme makeup). She said they are very strict esp. on the Emergency demonstration.
