EK open day Melbourne

Hi all!
I attended the EK open day.
Well as we expected… there’s a lot of people about 300 applicants.
People at the open day said, there’s not a lot of people compare with the previous open day.
There were two recruiters named Sue and I think Robin. They said, they’re only collecting resumes. They conducted the Questions & Answer in the afternoon but that’s about it. I’ve noticed, when you submitted your resume, they put something on your resume, and perhaps they are screening you from the time you submitted your resume so make sure you smile, use your charisma/personality!
There’s a lot of people from Sydney including myself hehehee..!
There’s nothing really I can say more because I went at Le Meridian hotel to meet some friends and submit my resume and to know more about Emirates.
All the best to all of us!

Robin was simply marking the number of candidates.....79....80..... etc....I doubt very much that any remarks were made about any candidates, as she did not write anything when presented with what was obviously NOT Cabin Crew material.
Jeans for men, 3 ear rings heaven forbid!
Robin and Sue were probably simply following their recruiters guide lines.

Trust in yourself, imagine yourself in the position, if anyone really wants to work for the airline, they will, and if not it was not meant to be.

Good luck to you all, chins up, respect the recruiters, listen to what they say.....!!!! Most of the questions were answered by other candidates, so if you had planned questions, don't ask a question just for the sake of it.

Smile Hi onlyemirates!

I couldn’t agree to you more…

I think Robin and Sue were great and I respect them a lot. They were just doing their job, period.

I’m making a comment with my experienced. I’ve noticed they’re putting something on the resumes and even my friends who attended were asking me what’s that all about. Our assumptions, perhaps they do screen you from the time you submitted your resume or perhaps they put the numbering to identify who comes to the hotel earlier, etc. FYI – these are only an assumptions!

It could be just putting numbers, I don’t know and I don’t care! I’ve just wanna share the info here.

I know there’re a lot of people here who would like to get as much info as possible before they go to their open day and I’m prepare to share it.

Ok, I have to catch me flight back to SYD. All the very best .

Melbourne Open Day...

Hi Guys,

I also attended the Open Day today in Melbourne and was the 3rd person to get there (suprisingly). As expected all they did was collect resumes and "due to the overwhealming response they would be taking the resumes back to Dubai and sorting through them".

As for the thing they wrote when you submitted your resume it was only a number so they dont lose the resumes. They are simply making sure that they are in order and if they are out of number sequence they know some are lost (Trust me I asked her out of curiosity).

It was shocking to see the presentation of some of the people, jeans, t-shirts, walkmans, hair down etc... Do people seriously have no idea. One applicant thought the position was based in Melbourne and left when she found out it was in Dubai.

I guess this is the way Emirates are doing things now. If you want the job bad enough you will go out of your way to get it. I must admit the recruiters in Melbourne this time round appeared to be very friendly and relaxed. One of them was actually Australian so I guess she had a soft spot for recruitment down under.

Good Luck to all who applied and I'm sure you will hear back from them in the next few months if you are what they are looking for. If not this time there is always the next.

Cheers
