Melbourne Open Day...
Hi Guys,
I also attended the Open Day today in Melbourne and was the 3rd person to get there (suprisingly). As expected all they did was collect resumes and "due to the overwhealming response they would be taking the resumes back to Dubai and sorting through them".
As for the thing they wrote when you submitted your resume it was only a number so they dont lose the resumes. They are simply making sure that they are in order and if they are out of number sequence they know some are lost (Trust me I asked her out of curiosity).
It was shocking to see the presentation of some of the people, jeans, t-shirts, walkmans, hair down etc... Do people seriously have no idea. One applicant thought the position was based in Melbourne and left when she found out it was in Dubai.
I guess this is the way Emirates are doing things now. If you want the job bad enough you will go out of your way to get it. I must admit the recruiters in Melbourne this time round appeared to be very friendly and relaxed. One of them was actually Australian so I guess she had a soft spot for recruitment down under.
