Cabin crew job in UK - who is the best?
I am looking to relocate from another part of the world to the UK.
I have been flying for over 10 years with domestic and intl airlines.
I have heard that BA is THE place to work, for money and conditions, but they say morale is low - isnt it low at every airline around the world?
Have not heard anything about Easyjet - they seem to be always recruiting.
I recently flew GB Airways and found the staff to be very polite and professional.
I would like to hear from cabin crew from different airlines about what its like to work for your airline - the pay, and if you get layovers away from your home base - how often are you away from home in a month.
Is there an upper age limit to get hired?

JS I wouldn't even consider working for any other airline based in the UK but BA.
BA in terms of pay and conditions leaves everyone else standing.
I have worked for BA for 13 years now and if I lost my job tomorrow I would give up aviation altogether.

OzzieO is of course absolutely correct. If you come over looking to work in this industry you will find that there are are at least two different levels of job with reference to T&C's, wages and sheer quality of life. The aforementioned BA, and then everybody else (although with the loco's, there could be an argument for saying that there are 3 levels). Over the past years there has been a reduction in the margin between the levels, but the gap remains substantial.
Of course, the gap will remain only as long as BA can afford for it to do so. Moral: Look closely and think carefully before joining any company.

Have to agree with Ozzie O, have worked for several airlines and BA is by far the best.
Like all airlines, we like to have a whinge and a moan, but having worked for 4 airlines before BA..nothing can top them! And I am based at LGW (shorthaul).
Lovely colleagues , both Ground and Air. Our customers are on the whole fantastic, and when they are not, it is usually because they have been let down, by a cog in the works, rather than complaining because they think it will get them compensation..which when I worked for a charter airline..was an every day occurance...
Our money is not like it was in the old days, but then what is. BA will always be the best, in terms of career progression and longevity, would urge anyone who see's their next recruitment campaign to apply....

I should clarify. I've worked for 5 airlines and BA is by far the best. Yes we whinge. But many people do 30 odd years with them. That says it all. I've done 12 and wouldn't change a thing....apart from a few of the passengers!!! Don't expect party time all the time tho'. Depends what fleet you join. Like I said. Noone leaves so if you wanna fly we ur Dad BA is for U

bmi LOL....I'm joking! BA seems to be the best, I would love to work for BA. bmi isn't bad but BA is the one to aim for....
Virgin isn't meant to be that great, if it was a choice for BA or Virgin you would go for BA hands down.

i always wanted 2 fly for BA and have been there now 4 nearly 3yrs. As airlines go its one of the better ones but things are changing and not for the better,world wide fleet LHR is the place 2 be but the waiting list is hideous world wide LGW not so good hardley any routes left they all seem 2 go 2 LHR both euro fleets LHRandLGW work very hard but we are recruting direct entree into LGW long haul you cant pick what fleet you want to work on but if i had to pick which airline to work for i would always pick BA but dont be fooled like i say things are changing and there is a big announcement coming are way in the next few weeks we could all be wearing orange you just never know.

As already mentioned look at www.aviationjobsearch.com. I currently work for a small charter company based at Gatwick. We go to weird and wonderful destinations, but it is still good fun. The basic is £10,000 for a junior which is more than BA. We currently have 5 aircraft but hoping to get 3 more for later this year. We currently fly 737-300 and 700's.
