OK.. Why on arrival at Connellan Airport does the flight crew always refer to it as Uluru? Sure the big thing out the window is now more commanly refered to in the new politically correct way as Uluru instead of Ayers Rock but no mention of the town they are going to (Yulara) is ever mentioned. Sure most of the punters will be seeing Uluru when they get there but also Kata-Tjuta, Kings Canyon and Mt Conner as well. Technicaly speaking the Airport is known as Ayers Rock (ref Airservices Australia) YAYE AYQ or Connellan. Like does anyone ever say "Welcome to Sydney Harbour Bridge"? To sum it up I don't wan't to sound like a real smarty pants but whats wrong with good old Yulara?

ur best asking one of our outback flyers from Qantaslink/NJS as their aircraft fly in there a few times day - CART_TART !
It's the same with Nhulanby in NT as some call it Gove, not sure which name they announce when they land.
You say "to-may-to"....I say " to-mar-to "

This is a bit off the topic but some pax ask if they are in BNE when they have just arrived in BNE. Some ask....Is this near the Sydney Harbour bridge...Am I going the right way? believe it or not!
