VIP Flying

I spent many years flying in the middle east and VIP flying in the Gulf states is basically a female recruitment only and on recommendation. However our male European staff who managed to get jobs were only offered jobs in Saudi as some private flights there only want males. Your previous experience will stand you in good stead, but corporate flying is very different i.e. you must be very discreet, very long days sometimes trips where you are away for a month. I think you stand a better chance starting in the middle east as in Europe it really is a closed shop, you have to be recommended. Don't forget as well you can be fired if you upset the wrong person or your face does not fit. Try finding out about big companies who have corportate jets. Another thing to consider is that you will be working with the same people most of the time compared to a commercial airline, so fitting in is paramount. Good luck:)

GA VIP Jobs

To get a job in GA VIP, start as a free lance F/A. GA Chief Pilots do not like to place an Ad, they do not have the time to look at 100's of CV's. Go to Handling Agents Crew rooms like Farnborough, Luton, Stansted and B/Hill, stick a note may be with a photo or talk to the handling agents that you are looking for part time or free lance work.

It works.

Qatar Amiri

Ive got an interview comming up with them next month, nice company and everything but dont fancy 24/7 Standby all the time, 45 annual leave what is good but then again 12 days off in a year.....:hmm: If the priority is to earn money then should go for it, but then forget any private life whatsoever :=
I am still thinking to go for it or no

Brababe34 27th Sep 2009 14:22

Klea 27th Sep 2009 16:15

Eeeeeeverything nowdays happens mostly thru agency. Dont know who you should contact if they havent contacted you already.
Thanks for good luck wishes, if I will go for it will use it!
About your age...dont know and dont think anybody knows, I was rejected by NJME cos I look to young, I have the age required but I LOOK TO YOUNG:8! Can you imagine? :E So dont think age matters if you are 33, you might look younger and something they are looking for not requred age between 21-27(or something) and they shagg you off cos you look like 18... Dont know, I have had lots of age issues so dont think Im the right person to whom to ask something about the age....:}

Brababe34 28th Sep 2009 12:15

Amiri

Thanks for all your info. You are right about the age... Well last week they called me and explained all about the Job and told me they aill be in touch so by that day I havent heard from them . I might call them instead to wait...

Once again :D Good Luck and let me know how did go,ok:ok:

Amiri Qatar

Hi Brababe,

I have an interview with Amiri Qatar next October 12th in Uk, dont worry about the age, I'm 34 and I look younger, but I believe the important matter is your experience, personality, skills and capabilities, so don't worry about the age and go for it.

In your situation you should call to them, the agency is called Intaway, find the telephon number in internet and ask for Simon, is the person in charge for Amiri interview.

If you want more details send me a private message and I will answer your questions, ok?

I hope this help, and go for it!!!;)

Qatar Amiri

They have changed the interview dates - again! Suited me but I feel for others who had maybe bought full fare tickets to travel. I think they are still looking for crew, maybe struggling due to the 24/7 standby rule?!

As MERY said, don't worry about age, I'm 33 and feel it!:{

Qatar Amiri

How is this company actually?

Is it true that you have to fly for Qatar for six months first? (Someone wrote this before on pprune.)

Someone said that accomodation is provided: does it mean that the company has rules about visitors liket at Qatar Airways? So, no money but housing is offered, right?

Do you need to ask for entry visa if you want to leave Doha for a quick trip?

Is Qatar Amiri the same company which is advertised on the Qatar Airways homepage?

Qatar Executive Crew | Qatar Airways

Just curious...

Foodie 18th Oct 2009 07:32

Mari,

you can be directly accepted into Amiri, but I have seen Amiri crew been put on commercial flights sometimes, all depending on big boss from QR.

how the company is? most "western" crew left due to the unfairness and the money is not so great considering you are always on standby and have to request for every single day off.
it is amiri, but they do have A320 (normal configuration), so not all flights are so called VIP

yes, accomodation is provided and vistor rules apply.

I am not sure if QR Exec is the same company, but havent heard too many good things about that company either; if it is affiliated with Qatar Airways in any way, think twice before signing there, because you never know what you might be in for!

Good luck though.
