Hi future QF crew, I've been back flying for more than a year and I'm absolutely loving it (so keep your heads up!). We are about to bid again and the correspondence from the company is: still offering crew leave and part-time positions and advising that our hours may be low. It appears that some more A380's have come back on line as we will start operating them to Johannesburg in a month. There is one initial school coming online in the next few weeks and they are transfers from JQ. We have not been advised that there will be future training schools at this stage but this is aviation so may change at the drop of a hat. Keep going with what you're doing......I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do when you start flying.
)
)Thank you for coming back to keep us updated. So good to hear that you’re enjoying it. Do you have a favourite location so far?

Hello there,
Lovely of U to check in. Very disappointed after such a long time.
I am overseas right now so will do a better reply soon but I will say that if you get the chance to apply to Jet connect or the London base, then do so.
I have chatted with the Auckland crew and they have been employing this whole time. So if your circumstances allow, apply to overseas bases or try Emirates etc.
You won't get this same run around.
Speak soon.
Keep believing in yourself and try elsewhere.

Qantas group once again demonstrates that they don't care about their people, you are just a number to them. It's all about $$ for the higher ups.
It's a shame they have the monopoly of the industry in Australia and have ruined this career by exploiting a causal work force across 2 airline brands and excessive outsourcing.
They can't even deliver the basics of full time employment, finical security, paid training, sick leave, overnight allowances etc etc. for many of those staff out the 24/7 at 35000 feet looking after the safety and comfort of their paying passengers.

I’ve said this before on here, but my biggest disappointment is that by asking me to pay & do my medical, I entrusted in good faith they would have a ground school for me.
At the time of medical it was very hard for me to part with the money due to my financial situation, but I trusted them to have a place for me.
Other than that- I am truly heartbroken. I specifically had my heart set on Qantas. I haven’t applied for any other airline.
I guess in the future if it’s meant to be- it’ll be.

I have unfortunately had similar experiences in other aspects recently so it doesn't shock me but saddens me and has me a little cross that you can get so far and 2 years later end up without a result.
Virgin, Qlink, Jetconnect, Emirates could be worth looking at.
Also the same job same pay ruling no doubt pushes employment offshore.
That is the end of the road for me. Can't endure that rollercoaster again.
But I wish you all much success for your futures. Hang in there. You really did tick all the boxes but commercial interests always win out.
Believe in yourself and try elsewhere.

Thank you Emstar for your kind words 🙏
It may just involve applying to the subsidiary companies or Auckland and London.
Emirates and other airlines offer great careers too.
If anyone wants to ask questions please PM me.

Hey guys … may I ask what was the email you received recently? Because I am waiting for the update and haven’t got any emails. If I don’t get email that means my application might been terminated already?
if anyone can let me know what the news was … thank you

the email basically highlighted that they won’t be hiring any more international cabin crew and we’ve been taken off the hold pool and offering a fast track application for casual position for MAM domestic cabin crew

MAM Domestic cabin crew ground school 2025?
Morning all, it’s Lou .. I have been advised that MAM are looking at running ground schools for MAM casual cabin crew in the new year.
As there is currently a hold pool of MAM and Qantas applicants, they are prioritizing those who have already attended Assessment Days in the past.
Have those of you who have been patiently waiting been told of a Ground School date for 2025?
have a wonderful weekend.. Lou 🌸

Hi Lou,
interviewed for MAM last year. Did ASIC check, swimming test, reference checks only to receive this after more than a year of being on hold...
Thank you for your continued interest in MAM Casual Domestic Cabin Crew opportunities. We truly appreciate your patience throughout this recruitment process as we've been reviewing our network and operational needs.
We want to let you know that unfortunately, there are no further requirements forecasted for Domestic Cabin Crew at this stage. As a result, the recruitment Campaign has now been closed.
We thank you again for joining the SmartRecruiters Community. By doing so, you'll not only be the first to hear about future job opportunities, but you'll also receive insights into life at the Qantas Group. You will also be updated about news regarding upcoming developments relating to our Cabin Crew teams, as well as getting to know some of our team members and their stories. It's a great way to stay connected and keep informed about the exciting things happening within our teams.
