Hi everyone. I have my medical assessment next week. Feeling very excited to have made it this far! Hopefully I get the golden call following that. I understand Emergency Procedures GS training (Syd Base) is done in either Melbourne or Abu Dhabi. Does anyone know if Qantas allows you to choose which EP GS location you prefer? Also, does anyone know if the accommodation in Abu Dhabi is a hotel or the Etihad crew apartments? And which Melbourne hotel?

I heard within 24 hours following the online interview (which was 2 days after initial application) that I was invited to AD 3 days later.

A lot of people asking about timelines of the hiring process so I’ll share my experience. I first applied for the role sometime around mid May. I then submitted my online personality questionnaire on 28 May. After that I didn’t hear from Qantas for months - totally thought I had been rejected. Out of nowhere on 3 September I was asked to attend a assessment day, which was then completed on 15 September. I then did my medical on 10 October, and just received my golden call about two hours ago today. My training begins 12 December, with it to be all done in Sydney I think…. My contract is meant to be sent in the next 24 to 48 hours

It's different for everyone. My one was not so quick. I applied back in May. Did online interview questionnaire not long after and didn't hear anything until late August for a September AD. I only just had my medical/AOD done 3 weeks ago. Some are fast tracked, some take longer like mine and the best advice I've gotten from this group is to literally just have faith, be positive, and stay patient. Your time will come so just keep yourself busy <3

Has anyone been put on the hold list for attending the next assessment centre in Sydney? I couldn't attend the last one and was told I'd hear from them in October but I haven't heard anything, and I even logged about 3 follow-up enquiries with talent acquisition but they haven't replied 😪

You're so lucky! Ive been waiting for my invite to the next assessment centre since September and was told I'd hear from them in October and that never happened 😪. I called recruitment yesterday and they said my follow-up enquiries are in a que to be answered and I'd hear from them soon. So frustrating when I've even gotten my first aid and rsa all ready to go 😖. Maybe they don't want me, so disheartened 😪
This is all a waiting game, and it usually turns out good in the end.

Definitely agree. Hearing nothing is a good sign. They may contact you closer to an assessment day once it is planned out, they are swamped at all stages of recruitment. Just remain positive 😊
