Oh really that's weird cause I just recently went to the open day in Sydney for Cabin Crew and there was heaps of males and nothing was said to them?
I also was told at the open day that they wont be doing open days no more, you will have to submit your resume online and then if you get invited to assessment day you can go.

Online Application

Hi guys

It's been a while since I've been back in this forum. Looks like things have change with Emirates' interview process, especially here in Australia. Before, they used to host open days and anyone can turn up. But now you have to apply online and wait to be shortlisted. Now that I have been selected and been shortlisted for an interview, they have provided me dates and and time but left the venue of where the interview would be blank. Does anyone know that I'm supposed to be waiting for another confirmation? My worry is that this interview is next weekend and I would like to know where the venue would be hosted...

Cheers

Want to Fly

Congratulations and good luck with your assessment day. Emirates is straight with Assessment centre dates and venues and I wouldn't know why/how Emirates would schedule your interview, especially, without a confirmed venue. I would look up their assessment centres for the specific day you've been invited to attend interview close to your area or alternatively a quick call to a local Emirates Office again closer to your area would do fine as well.
Again, congratulations and good luck with your assessment day. Remember to "SMILE" and remain calm with gentle humility and above all resilience.

Thanks for the prompt reply kirungi1

The strange thing is even on the emirates careers webpage that it has been left blank. As well, the email they sent was just a normal generated email which I don't think I can reply to.

Oh well let's hope more information will come through and that I'll get confirmation. Anyone attending the Brisbane AD on 8th March?

Cheers

@ want_to_fly

I went to emirates open day three weeks ago in Sydney and was told about the open days not happening anymore - I got through to second round and we were all told if you make it through you can't reapply for 6 months - I applied for the Brisbane interview for March and I got Invited to the invite only recruitment day, which I was surprised I've already been not long ago. I also didn't get the venue it was held at but I'm unsure if they will update it with a email but same thing being it next weekend I don't wanna miss out

Attending 8th March BNE Emirates Invitation.

Hey everyone I've been invited to attend open day for Emirates in Brisbane on the 8th March, any experiences that may help me with securing a position with the airline? I am really into the aviation industry including completing theory private pilot exams as well as a couple of commercial exams to. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

hey guys !!! I have submitted an online application on the Emirates website as well as to the recruitment consultants that will be doing the initial screening here in India. I was told that Bengali is a requirement for Indian applicants....need to know if a non Bengali speaker can get through, as I've heard of ppl getting it though they do not know the language ?
Also, an OD is coming up this month in Dubai... do they entertain non-arabic speakers ?!!
any info would be appreciated....!!!

Emirates recruitment

Hey guys,

just a question. Can anybody explain me the logic of recruitment process in Emirates? When I applied for the first time I got through to the final interview but unfortunately I didn't receive the golden call. I applied twice more but I was sent home in the first round both times.
So can anybody explain how is it possible that once I meet the most of their criteria and next time I don't meet any of them?
Isn't that a kind of disadvantage being in the final interview and then applying again and again?

Thanks for any reply

Jan

@IanCZ

I was exactly like you, I made it to the FI in 2009 and then again in 2012. I went to an assessment day just last week and was knocked out the 2nd round, but I knew where I did wrong so the rejection wasn't as hard as the rejection from the FI. And of those time I have attended OD in 2010 and 2011 and both times rejected in the first round.

It's hard to know what they are after but I guess if you stay confident and try not to act so 'desperate' then perhaps you'll make it to the second round. I find that if you show patience, humility and resilient they will invite you through to the second round.

All the best and in 6 months time I will definitely try again.

Cheers

want to fly

Hi want to fly,

I was just wondering how long it took to receive your AD invite after you applied online? I applied around a month ago for Sydney and haven't heard anything as yet so was curious to see how long it took you

Thanks!

Do I understand it well that even if it is the "drop off CV" only you can re-apply after the period of 6 months? Fortunately I'm hired for another company - for the summer season only - but better than nothing.

It seems to me like the girl doing the recruitment here in the Czech republic just hates me... The way she talks to me... And she was the one to let me go through to the FI... so I just don't get it...

@smiley99

I applied roughly 3 weeks before the AD and maybe a week after that I received my invitation letter to attend the assessment day.

@IanCZ

Are you currently employed by another airline? If so, then I've been told Emirates do not like to hire existing cabin crew.. for reasons why I do not know. But I have experienced in the past where I have felt recruiters hated me and gave me looks of disappointment if I didn't answer things correctly. But I guess they've been told to do that and add pressure on us to see how we react. Please don't give up on this journey to be an EK cabin crew as I'm sure you will get it. Trust me, I've been trying for 5 years and twice I nearly got it

@want_to_fly

Fortunately I was hired for another company two days after the EK Open Day. But it is czech company and I'm hired for the peak season only. Hope it will become another disadvantage for getting EK CC job...

However, I've decided to apply again for EK but will go to Germany, Austria or Slovakia to try it. Because czech lady doing the assessment obviously doesn't like me at all )))

Thank for support

my advice is to go somewhere You will expect less people(I did my interview in scandinavia 50ppl showed up, in London or Dublin 300 is a minimum ), then you have more chances to stand out. In fact, it is the matter of luck, but they have some potentials they are looking for...

give me a msg, if you will need some advice regarding Emirates or Etihad...
