Xmas ref email

Hey guys did anyone from the Syd AD actually have their referees contacted?
Myself & others received an email saying that they weren't able to contact our references before Christmas so we will need to wait until January for further information regarding our application. Thus we can't do med or asic checks. Anyone actually received the asic & medical clearance checks yet? From Syd, Bne or Mel base?

Qantas sent me a email, yesterday afternoon. Pretty much stating they have too many applicants and will be commencing reference checks again for those who we have not been able to contact after the Christmas break with another review scheduled for mid-January for ground schools next year.
At this point in time we have had an extremely high number of high calibre applicants for the position and you are included in the shortlist however this side of Christmas we won’t be in a position to progress your application through to ASIC checks and medicals.

Hopefully it's a good sign.

They are finalising the internal transfers for the bases so they have an exact number they need to recruit. BNE is the first school to start training in February I believe

aircraft for each base

Does anyone remember what aircraft you will be endorsed on for each base?

I remember that bne base will only operate a330 and 747 only

So dose anyone know if anyone has progressed to the medicals or security checks before Christmas an new year breaks?

I know its far far in advanced but wonder who gets the 787 training first re base?

Hey everyone,

I went to the SYD open day on the 7th Dec I think it was? Anyway so Qantas have checked both references and I have completed the Asic form before Christmas.. Got an email today saying that next stage will be for medicals.( Also if both refs havent been checked then it says your application will go on a hold file til later stage. ) Anyone else up to this stage with me?

I just received an email to complete my ASIC. The next step is determined by the ground schools either it will be a medical or the application will be put on hold. Fingers crossed!

Is anyone from Brisbane at Medicals yet? I have only received the ASIC email but have just heard someone is at Medicals for ground school at the start of Feb. I'm so nervous, I hope there is more then one ground school!

Awaiting Medicals

I'm in Brisbane also! I got the email about ASIC card and background checks today. So excited, and nervous. Really hope they just say some will be put on hold to cover their bases but it really means most people will get through to medical and ground school.

Hello, I'm an external applicant. I really hope ground school is starting in February not march or April.

I would assume it's for External as Internal already hold an ASIC and Medical classification with the Group

Hello, I believe they will contact both referees, as they did in my case. I had one that was too long ago (from 2008-09) even though as a travel agent was more relevant I thought, so I had to provide them with another.

I have just had my Alcohol and other drugs test yesterday (AOD.) They tell you that you pass on the day which is fab. Now medical tomorrow. Seems pretty extensive judging by the forms. So many things they apparently check. Not looking forward to injections :-0

Hello! What base are you for? I haven't been told about medical yet! And what injections!!!!!?
