Recruitment Process
Hey guys!
I applied for Jetstar Cabin Crew and received a call around 2 months later for a phone interview with Altara, who then advised it may be one - two months before they contact me for an assessment day if i was successful with the phone interview. Still haven't received a call yet (been around one month) and was just wandering if this is their usual waiting period? Thanks

Upcoming Melbourne ground school
Hello everyone, I was invited to an assessment day in Melbourne early in October, and was told if successful will begin training on the 26/11. I received an email saying they will be commencing reference checks, however the ground school scheduled was full, so now my application status is shown as 'pending'. With Christmas around the corner I'm certain they won't be doing much until the new year. Is anyone else in the same boat? Does anyone know if there is a definite ground school penciled in for early next year? Many thanks in advance, Kat.

I'm not sure what's happening after Christmas time but if it's of any help, I've just had a phone interview and if successful that there would be an assessment day mid December. I imagine things would start to pick up again shortly? Not sure if that's of any assistance.

GS 2014?

Hope you are well
As you know, I just finished a GS and another started on the 26th Nov. During my time at GS we heard about the Nov GS, but didn't hear anything about any GS scheduled for 2014. I hope (like I did) that you don't have to wait 11 months!!!!!

Hello, I attended Altara /Jetstar Sydney Asssessment day on 29 Nov 13, and was told Referees and myself would be contacted the following week,no word yet,wondering if others are in the same boat,cheers.

Hi joey, I attended an AD on 1/10 next day received an email about commencing reference checks. Have not heard anything since then! Very hard not knowing where you stand, I'm sure others are in the same boat too. All the best..

The progress is at a much slower pace that they talked about at the Nov 29 AD. I heard back from them on Friday (Dec 6) with questions about my referees and they haven't even contacted them yet.

Thanks Katvo and Aueb, for your replies,it s a bit like when someone is having a baby, people always saying anything yet? One of my Referees said I should phone as it shows enthusiasm,does anyone agree with checking in(excuse the pun) by phone ? cheers Joey

Hi Joe, if you need to follow up with your application I don't see why you shouldn't give them a call/email. Especially if they have not communicated with you when they said they would. I have emailed them, but no reply. Maybe phone would be better! Good luck!

Altara/Jetstar recruitment is generally a timely process - not sure if this is due to Altara or Jetstar, but expect to wait a long time before you hear anything in regards to your applicatio0, especially with the Christmas period coming up. Altara's email system is unreliable, so I would recommend calling them if you really want to know what is going on.
What I can tell you is that Jetstar had a September and October GS and their November GS graduates at the end of this week. These were their first GSs since January 2013. I certainly don't know what their 2014 plans are, but I have not heard of any more GSs that are planned for the near future. And once you are on active hold, I know of people that were on active hold for almost 12 months before getting a call to start GS.

Ground school
I attended Cairns base Casual interview and we were told February 4th 2014 for G/S I have been in touch with a few others from the interview Altara have checked our references and that is all we have heard, but it is a slow process and just have to sit and wait......

Ref your ADL assessment day, I have had reference checks done and also have received instructions to proceed to do my medical and ASIC forms to complete and return.
How did you go... have you had any response from JQ in relation to your AD. Hopefully we are both in the same GS.....
fingers x... if so would be nice to catchup with you for a coffee prior to GS in fact this would be great for any ADL people that made it through to GS.... PM me and we can all catchup before it starts....

I am in need of some information about Altara/jetstar? I've applied for the Sydney base as a casual - I am wondering how many hours per roster you get? Do you get a chance to transfer to jetstar? I'm considering a move from Perth but need to get a lot more information before making such a big decision?

I'm attending a AD for Jetstar Sydney based on the 14th of August. What should I expect? I'm very nervous! Also, I'm in the process of getting my tattoo removed. I'm just gonna cover it up on the AD with tons of make up (I've done it before, no issues here)
I am freaking out. This is my dream and I really dont want to screw things up.
