questions

for the questions, mostly about your previous working experience in service industry. Such as:

- do you enjoy working in group? have you ever raise up your idea or just follow that group decision? give a specific example.
- Have you ever been extra nice to a customer? give a specific example and what did you do?
- How do you evaluate yourself?...
- etc.

They said it would be a pleasant conversation and sharing... but it's really stressful with those questions.

Im still waiting for the GC and hopefully it will come soon. Im like sitting on the fire now..

Good luck guys

Your blog

Hi Selena, thanks for telling us about your blog. I started reading it from the beginning a little while ago, and I don't want to stop reading it. It is so interesting and informative. My daughter will leave for Dubai in about 2 weeks to become an Emirates flight attendant. Your blog is great to give us an idea about what to expect. I really appreciate it!

Jumping into this thread! Applied online a couple of days ago, my status is still at applied. Anxiously awaiting any kind of change, but from what research I've done it can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks and even months?

Anyways, just wanted to put it out there and am grateful to find such an informative forum.

Need Help PLEASE !

Hi everyone !

I have got the flight attendant job in a VERY famous company and Im going to start next month . BUT i have received an invitation from Emirates for an assessement day in Dubai next week . I know that Emirates is much better and their salaries are higher too ( life in Dubai is nicer ) but it s only an AD so there is a big risk to not be successfull .
I would like to ask you if some experience with my future company will give me more chances to obtain this job with Emirates or do you think that they don t hire people coming from another airlines .

Does exist any convention between Emirates and other companies that you must wait a certain period before applying for EK or not .
If you are or you know Emirates Crew who was working in other airline before joining EK PLEASE let me know if the fact that you were an ex CC helped you .

THANK YOU VERY MUCH and waiting your help pleeaaasse !

Recommendation letters

Hi! Does anyone know if EK requires any service letters (recommendation letters) from previous employer once you are hired? What other documents do they need except medicals?

Hey guys, a year ago my experience with Emirates started... a year ago I started researching on this forum, did my interviews in August and joined the company in November.

I have been flying the A380, so proud of being A380 crew... some of you have being asking about main fleet or a380 training...

In the last few months everything there are many changes on Emirates, A380 crew are converting to Boeing 777 with a cross qualification, being able to fly both aircrafts and also they stopped eventually all the ab-initio courses for a380; but we got a few aircrafts coming very soon and new routes opening very soon as well, so they are going to start a380-b777 ab-initios again; so i guess some of you joining the company in August will be for main fleet and some others for a380-b777.

I hope I am being helpful with this info.

A very good luck for all of you and for those of you joining the company by the end of August or doing the ab-initio, I might get to see you around training college since I got my conversion next month.

Waiting after rejection mail .

Congratulation Ntello , I do remember reading some of your posts about a year ago when i was also going through my FI and application process . How are you liking Emirates and life in Dubai ?

Is anyone else in the same boat as me ? I did my FI in Dec last year and 5 weeks later got the rejection email I still can't forget my dream to work for Emirates and will apply again this December , 5 long months ago , time goes so slowly .

For people that have gone through the medicals in Australia , how much would you say you need for all the medicals and also for your first month in Dubai before you get your first pay ?

To all you that have already made it , congratulations ! To everyone applying , good luck xo Fafi

@alina85 - The only MUST is English. You can go to an OD in Germany with only English and still make it. But obviously any additional language is a plus!

@poggino - You have to provide two references with their contact details but service letters are not required. If you're hired, you'll need to provide quite a lot of paperwork, so I won't list it here. It's all gonna be well explained to you through the portal and you'll be able to communicate easily with the recruitement team if you need any extra info.

@Fafi - I did all my medicals in Melbourne. I had to pay something like 250$ all together for the doctor's appointment, the blood test and the chest X-ray. Then they dentist check is about 250$ as well but if they have to do some fillings it's obviously gonna be much more. I had 3 fillings to be done so it was another 400$ or so

When you reach Dubai they give you 2'500 AED in cash on the first day of induction. And that's pretty much gonna be your monthly wage for the first 3 months. You can last for a month with that if you're careful but you will most likely need more, especially if you go out and explore the nightlife The ammount of more you might need just depends on you.

"How to Become Emirates Cabin Crew: An Aspiring Flight Attendant's Must Have Guide to Acing the Interview" by

? I see that it was published back in 2008 but I can not find it online anywhere. I think that this book could be a good reference. Thoughts??

thank you for your response...unfortunately it seems that it's not just a rumour the one with putting people on hold, but I'm confident and I think things will get better in no time...so, I have decided to attend the OD in Germany and, as long as I pass the FI, I'm willing to wait however it takes

Question Cant wait..

Dear guys,

I have one small question that i would like to ask for your experience.
I did my FI on June 25 and then my online application status changed from "Applied" to "Approval in progress" on July 3. I have just checked my application status that it changed to "You will be contacted by your recruiter coordinator at the earliest" on July 9.

Does it mean that I am going to have the GC soon? Does it mean that I am accepted or still under review? I just cant wait for the result and I am really sitting on fire right now...

Could you please give me the suggestions base on your experience?

P/S: Still not call until now and my fingers is being crossed...:-S

Thanks
