yeah you have a point. hehe. anyway, how bout etihad's walk-in application? do you have an idea? ey very rarely goes to the philippines to conduct hiring.. so im worried it would take years before they come back here for a new hiring. T_T
P.S. ive heard some "news" that ek/ey freeze their hiring for filipino applicants. how true is this? thanks much for the info

Unfortunately, they are only accepting CVs from Arabic speakers in Dubai. I am pretty positive about it because my friend went to drop off his CV and he didn't even get to do so because you have to be an Arabic speaker.
And that is what I heard as well, that they freeze the hiring in Philippines. But if you have a different passport/nationality then it's fine.
I know because I am filipino btw

Hey!
I'm a guy and I applied for Emirates assessment day in Nairobi on April 16/17, like 3 weeks ago but haven't got an invitation yet! Most people I know already have invitations while my status just says "Applied"!
Should I just give up lol?

thatredhatgirl,
i am doing medicals for another airline not ek and the thoracic comments the radiologist indicated slight muscle curvature due to muscle spasms . . .i didn't even know i have them because i have never felt them. . .do you think i should ask the radiologist to change comments? or will i be victimized because of something that is beyond my control. i asked him how its treated he told me only several sessions of massages could help . which i am not complaining about . an excuse to go to the spa is always welcome

hello!
Hello everyone!
For those who failed, don't worry and keep trying!
I applied first time on october 2009 and I reached FI! i couldn't belive it....but then, after 7 awfull waiting weeks, i received the rejection e-mail...i still don't know why!
The second time I tried was in october 2010... what was strange in this opportunity were the people who applied and reached the FI (i was rejected on final stage!!!!) .... for example, there was a girl who was dressed in a strange way, not formal, with a green skirt, a pair of short boots, a red shirt, not even maked-up and her hair was a totaly mess...it is said that for the cabin crew post it is required to be kind to other people...well, from the moment we entered to the hotel to the moment i left, i only saw her reading a book! not talking to the others or even paying attention on what we said...strange... but well, probably that thime the recruiters were looking for shy people, because all of those who talked and smile a lot were eliminated along the stages!
Last time I applied was in in march 2011. I weere unsuccesfull in the first stage! jajaja
this time the recruiters were kind, but there were one i coulddn't understood a word!! she speaks inwards, and when she called me to make me some questions, i had to ask her to repeat almost all! that's why I probably didn't succeed...
I WILL BE an Emirates cabin crew...so i'll try until i have my caqui uniform!!
Best wishes for all of you, and specially for MARI, whose posts are very usefull!!!

I see.. youre a fellow filipino.. but youre also an american citizen right? hehe. ive read some of your posts here Too bad i dont hold any other passport/nationality except filipino. PLUS i aint fluent with arabic language. lol.
Anyway, thanks for the info that youve shared with me. Now, im thinking bout applying online on ek's career site instead of walking-in. Ill just have to wait then til ek would conduct an od here in the philippines (hopefully this june... pleasseeee)
P.S. how bout etihad? do you know their application process? like ive said in my earlier post... ey havent been to philippines for quite some time now.. it makes me antsy that it might take few more yearsss til they visit us for new hiring.

Braces
When you go to the FI they make you sign a letter where it asks you if you have braces and indicates that it not allowed. I'm not sure if they would allowed if people can't see it. If you try, the worst that can happen is a no answer.
Guys, check this article with helpful and accurate informations about being a cabin crew for EK.
Rich Dubai Flirts With Hard Times, But Its Airline Is Still Flying High - WSJ.com
Highlights:
- Redlipstick must be retouched every 15 minutes.
- Unwed pregnancy are forbidden and subject to dimissal : premarital sex is forbidden in Dubai.
- Weight requirements : if an attendant gains too much weight, he or she is put on a diet by the airline's resident nutritionists.
- Smoking and dreaking in uniform is forbidden
- Openly gay men need not to apply : homosexuality is illegal in Dubai.
- And more : read on. (:
As our ROs said, EK is recruiting very aggressively. Dates of OD and AD are now posted until June. They are coming back to Canada in May.

You guys know that you can simply walk into an OD right? Not the AD, but the OD. Even without the invite, just go to it. The AD you cannot walk in to, you must be invited. Don't give up! What you guys should do is start preparing yourselves from now by reading the entire thread. If you had, you'd know that you could walk into the OD without the invite.
