That sucks that your lease isn't up until then - why don't you go along to the open day anyway, just so you can see what it's like and then when it comes time to do the CV drop off go to the bathroom and then leave? I'm not sure if anyone else has experience with asking to join at a later date, but still it helps to be prepared, and if you go to an open day you'll know what to expect and it might take some of the nerves off for next time.

6 - 8 weeks isn't a general rule, I attended an OD in brisbane in February and they didn't come around again until July...but then they were back in September. I think they say about 3 months, so if you don't want to go in October you'll probably find that they'll come again probably in January or February!

MissB & Elmirk7

You guys are right, I should just go for it! I have nothing to lose except maybe 6 months (if I don't get in and need to re-apply).

Well I guess I need to go and buy a suit then!

Oh, and I double checked the website and it's actually a "Global Assessment Day" not an Open Day, so I think it's invites only (but I'm not certain). I need to knuckle down and get my online application sorted and my photos done! I will devote the whole day tomorrow to perfecting my resume hehe.

It's a relief to know that if I get in my DOJ won't be until at least January. What a relief...

I know everyone here says this but I have honestly never wanted something so bad in my life. I wouldn't be willing to leave my boyfriend behind unless I really wanted this! That reminds me, if they happen to ask if I'm single I'm going to say "yes" just incase it gives me a better chance (I know it's really none of their business but ya never know!)

Keep up the good work lovelies!

Sam

So here's my question. I'm 20 years old, I know the age requirement is 21 years old. I turn 21 in June so needless to say I do have quite a while. 9 months to be exact. But since the whole process takes a while, for a few months sometimes, from start to all the way to getting the "golden call" when do you guys think I should start the application process? Will they let me be 20 in training as long as I turn 21 before graduation? I already have 2 years of flight attendant experience under my belt, just getting that out there. Thanks everyone.

Hey... just wondering if anyone got asked in there final interview if they would prefer main fleet or the A380?

Hey mariemi
It's definitely great that you have applied.... I don't think it's too late. I applied online and in less than 24hrs I received an email from them. Mine was for an OD tho, so it may be different for an AD but if there are places available then you have every chance of getting an invite

Hi Justin

At the last OD I went to they said that anyone who was turning 21 within the next three months could apply...so I guess it just depends on when you go to an OD/AD. Try your luck and see what happens...good luck!

In my OD (June) one girl who got selected is 20 years old... her DOJ was made until 27 of september because she turns 21, the 22 of september. So you CAN'T be under 21 before you join.. but if they want you, belive me...they will have you. the best of luck in your Open day.

Bella Bella:

I did not get asked about what would I want...did you?

Phewwww..... okay that's good news. It's been only 3 days since my final interview and I keep analyzing everything!! Should of done this, should of said that haha. But then I thought at the end of the AD when we filled out those forms the RO said that she will ask us during the final interview what our preference was (A380 or main fleet) but I didn't get asked. Good to know you didn't either and you got the GC

well done!

So sweet! i know what your feeling...it's terrible, I was so stressed out for weeks!!! well Im still stressed but because Im leaving so soon! jajaja lol, it's a very stressful ride!!!
Yeah don't worry, I didn't get asked... good thing because i don't know what I would have said .... Im personally happy I didn't get A380, although I have read it's good because you have more time in layovers and for rest in DXB.. but only 10 destinations??? i don't want that...
What do you want? A380 or mainfleet?

I got asked in my interview.

On a side note... You have up to 5 months to join the company, tattoos and scars have no effect, however, you must remember this is a professional company and you must have a professional image.

-NOVAS- & purelife

Oh that's a great sign you got asked NOVAS... not such a positive for me tho

purelife you must be soooo EXCITED!!! I can remember my first ever flight out of Australia was a one way ticket to Doha, Qatar. I was an absolute mess!!! But it really is an opportunity of a lifetime! Im so happy for you! I think I'd probably opt for the main fleet if I got asked, mainly because like you said it's only 10 destinations. I want to experience the WHOLE world hehe. I really hope I get the GC.... SOON!!! Waiting months like some people have would suck! Bigtime!

Hello! Just a question to BellaBella and purelife, did either of you have to take a test after the FI?

It seems half of the FI's did at my time and half didn't. Just curious

thanks!

thank you for your reply but i think because it's an AD it takes more time cause you have to be short listed
now if i missed my chance i have also to wait 6 month to reply again?
it's unfair cauze they won't even review my application

I am 99.9% sure that you only have to wait the 6 months is you attend an AD and don't get through. If you put in an application and don't get invited then you can still apply again whenever another AD comes along (without waiting the 6 months).

Is there an OD coming up in your city or close to your city that you can maybe attend? I hope that helps
