Q's about Continental & other US airlines

Hi guys. I work for EK for almost 2 years. I'm geting green card in the next few years so I want to ask if anyone can give me information about the us airlines. Can I get a job like cabin crew only with green card or I should have us passport- residence?
I'm really interested in Continental and Delta. If you know what are the standards for these companies please write it or any other information about the interviews and tips.

Thank you.
El

As long as you have a green card and an unrestricted passport, you are good to go. Be prepared, however, working at EK then going to a US carrier will be a step down to say the least. The pay will be a shock to you as well, as it takes many years before you earn a decent living. They have taken a lot of pay cuts over the last few years, and their work rules are forever changing. You bid by seniority to get your schedule, otherwise at CAL you are on 24 hour standby until your seniority lets you hold a schedule. I would not anticipate any hiring for a while. Delta is a bit different as they all get reserve days built into their schedule, and fewer days the more senior you get. With US airlines, you can anticipate the first 3-4 years to be difficult. Go to www.flightattendants.org which is similar to pprune but more USA flight attendant focused. You can ask members there more info on pay etc. I know Continental now starts at $19,500 annual, so not very good.
