Altara

Hi Ozcrew,

Altara are holding assessment days next Wednesday and Thursday, can you give me an idea on what to expect, and how did you go? Is there anyone else who has attended the Altara assessment days. Thanks

Altara?

Hi all, does anyone know whats going on with this Team Jetstar Casual Cabin Crew position being run by Altara now & not by TMS Asia Pacific as was first advertised? Have Altara taken over recruitment from TMS or was it always a jointly run recruitment for Team Jetstar??? Im confused....Good luck to those going to recruitment days next week in SYD!!!

I think you will find that Jetstar will not employ crew for full time positions if they are starting ground-schools for the casual positions. If they did this, the third party employer would only have to recruit more applicants, costing the client airline (JQ) money.

Tea or Coffee,

I know the next SYD GS is 1 March 2010. I am waiting for a later course date.

My interview was back in January. I know alot is dependent upon when Jetstar will received new aircraft; and I'm sure once the groups from 15/22 Feb are on-line, how well the casual programme works for Jetstar.

Good luck!

Hi Muizenberg,

my girlfriend started GS on Monday 22/2 for Altara (Jetstar), she's loving it. A A lot of study this week with the theory, and on Sunday they are off to Melbourne for 2 weeks for the practicial side of things. There is a GS starting on Monday are you starting then?

Hi GoldCoast1. Do you know if your friend is getting paid to do the GS for Altara. And does she know how many shifts she'll be doing a month?

Melbourne positions

Hi all
I am new to this forum, so pl forgive me if it's already been answered.
I'm experienced crew, was invited to the open day in Sydney last month and are awaiting potentially an invitation to a Melbourne open day.
Has anyone been invited.
I have also 'registered my interest' with Team J* and received an email directing me to the 'Agency' website - which I already have.

Any info would be fab.
Thanks
CC Chick

Altara Interviews

Hi,

im just wondering how those who recently started ground schools with Altara (Jetstar Casual) are doing? Also, has anyone who recently got through the first assessment stage have any idea of when the assessent day would be held? (I was considering emailing Altara but I might wait a little longer). The email I got just said that it could be in the next few weeks or months and they would keep my details on file until a date is set for my chosen location...i hope its soon! Good luck to those in ground schools and those still waiting for interviews or ground schools to start

I emailed them about dates, because I'm going to Tokyo for a week in the middle of March and was worried I wouldn't be able to go. They emailed me back and said they would be end of March / start of April.

You get paid for ground school if you complete it successfully, though no overnight/meal allowance in melb for training (they pay for your flights down & accomm) lots and lots of study pass mark 80% no time for partying or stuffing around. No one has their rosters yet but we nominated available days for end of March and all of April on our first day. Word in the crew room is that there will be plenty of work available if you want it which is good. Dont bother applying if you have holidays planned from now till may that are longer than 1-2 weeks because at ground school you will get told to go home. Good luck to everyone applying, pm me with any questions!

Is anyone able to share more information about the conditions of employment? The 15 days availability that are required, are you paid while "available" or do you only get paid if you actually get called in to work on an "available" day? What happens on an "available" day - are you required to be on call at short notice if a duty comes up? Do you have to accept whatever duty is given to you? What sort of duties do you get - mainly domestic day returns or do you get trips as well?
Would be great if anyone could shed as much light as possible for those of us considering submitting an application but unsure if it's suitable for us. Am hoping it's not like MAM but suspect that it is.
