OD in Panama City, Panama

Hey everyone!
Yesterday there was an OD here in Panama City, Panama, which I attended. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the call, so I was wondering what Qatar Airways is looking for? I'm 27 years old, 180cm tall, slim and I speak four languages (English, Spanish, Italian and German).

The recruiters told us that if we weren't pre-selected, we could apply again later; but since they can't tell us why we weren't selected, I'm not sure if I should apply again, as I don't know why they didn't select me.

Hi all. I was interviewed in Sydney about a month ago. I was asked to submit my academic records and photos to Qatar overseas via email. I did so and have been waiting a month to hear now. I was told i would know in 2 to 3 weeks so i wrote a polite email asking upon the status of my application. The email i recieved said that my application had been put on hold and that i would be informed when they made the decision.
Can anyone help me with what this means. I have put my career on hold atm because i am waiting to hear back.. Does it mean i did not get the job?????

Hey there everyone

A few words about my personal experience about OD in Tallinn (Estonia)today 21 November. There was a total of 35 people (only!), and 2 indian female recruiters (Gilian/Gulian and another one). The usual presentation, handed the cv's, they asked about where did you find out about the OD, any cabin crew/service experience, that's it.

Ah, here are the freshest salary numbers:
- during ab-initio: 3300 QAR
- first 6 months after ab-initio: 3300 QAR + block hour pay 39 QAR (they claim it to be 90-100 block hours on average, while I've heard it's no more than 70, any info on that? ) + meal allowance.
- after 6 months 3700 QAR, the rest is the same.

Then the english test, and meanwhile everyone had to approach them for the reach test. 20 min break, they announced the "happy 6" passing into the 2nd round.
I've made it to the 2nd, there was a group exersize, discussing some regular things (a la you spilt wine on VIP passenger, what to do, name the 10 challenges which await you in Doha). After that I got cut off - out of 6, 4 made it to the 3rd round, unfortunately I wasn't one of them.

I didnt really understand what precisely were they searching for, one girl who passed further had PINK stockings and VIOLET blouse, too talkative and overwhelming, but she passed! Well... no comment here I guess.

So thats it about the OD in Tallinn, hope my information could be useful to someone, will gladly answer any questions you might have!

EA_cabincrew

Hey EA_cabincrew, I´ve got a doubt!

Have all the three rounds happened on the first day?

Well, I am going to participate in an OD on next Sunday...

I am kind of confused, how could the talkative and overwhelming girl in violet blouse and pink stocking
pass on?

Oh my God, I got more worried. lol

Flying hours

My friend who works for Qatar says that he used to get 90-100 flying hours but recently it has fallen to around 70-80, however he thinks that will probably increase again as more destinations open up. He still got a good pay check this month anyway.

hello everyone
i have a question to ask and hope you guys help me with that.
Unfortunately, i missed Qatar airways' open day that took place in my country (Turkey). I was searching in the forum to find out how often they employ cabin crew, then I looked through their website. On the cabin crew job search section, I saw :Cabin Crew Recruitment in Ankara,Turkey-AIR000J3. But it doesnt write any date, so does it mean that they will come to my country again soon?

Hi Sezo

I suggest you to apply in the qatar sites, by the page that the link "Cabin Crew Recruitment in Ankara,Turkey-AIR000J3" opens.
They must invited you by mail as soon that they schedule in your country.
In the email you'll found everything : place, days, hours and what do you must have with you at the open day!
good luck!

I still don't understand. Do you mean that they will be coming to my country again if a lot of people apply from their website?

updated open day date is 18.december on qatar web.site.but not for turkey.
from today to 18.dec. there isnt any open day in turkey(search qatar web.site using event date button.)
by the way,the last rec.day was 6.nov.in istanbul.
may it be easy.)
regards
