Hi there,
it's good to learn that I am not the only one who's been waiting for reply from Etihad.
Our AD in Dubai was in mid of January. They told us that we'll get a "yes" or "no" reply in 48 hours. I didn't get any reply, so I followed up by calling them 1 week later to check if I passed or not. Fortunately, I received a positive answer. Now they are processing the security clearance for me, but it's been 2 months now. I followed up again 1 month ago and they replied me that they are still finalizing their course dates.

I read here from some posts that they might be starting their courses in the final quarter of 2009. But I didn't get any letter from them stating that. That's kind of frustrating because I can't wait to join Etihad, to be honest. Good thing I still didn't resign from my current job so hopefully all this waiting will be rewarded in the end!

Recruitment Agency

Dear Kseny, Dear Users,

I would like to take a part on an assessment day in Tallinn (19/05/2009), Riga (21/05/2009) or Vilnius (23/05/2009). Probably I need to register on some recruitment agency website. I already applied (succefully) on Etihad website, unfortunately no answer from HR. FlyHigh agency is recruiting just to Czech Republic. If someone knows the right agency(s) will be very, very thankfull.

Thanks,
Holdudvar

I guess you just didn't work in a company where conditions are far worse than those of Etihad. Human nature is such that it's never enough.

I received an email from the Recruitment team asking where I prefer to attend the AD (since its not held in my city), I indicated and now Im waiting, the AD-s are next week. What r your experiences, how many days before the AD do they invite u? or do u think it was just an inquiry and they r still hesitating whether to invite me or not?

skywards, you are right, but as you know things can change immediately!!!
maybe today you chose one airline that pays you more, and after 1 year, te salary changes and you can earn a lot less...

Maybe in one airline, with your professionality you can become a Cabin Crew Manager after 4 years, and in the other after 10 years, or eventually, you can't improve your future career.

Just go where you feel it could be better. As we all see, one week you have a job, the week after you don't even have one. So, don't chose just about 100 or 200 dirham more or less...

cabin crews are high mobilities, not refer to the job nature itself, what I am pointing out is you can chose to work here here and there depends on your personal preference. Those airlines in Gulf region are attractive because they have no income tax, housing benefit ( well, we know the job is hard still, but compared to other region, assuming you do the same job. )

They have implemented age restrictions for roles now too.. I don't know if there's any flexibility in it.. he minimum age for Cabin Senior now is 25, so probably if you're starting as FA you wouldn't be CM until 27 or something

etihad cancelled in N.A

i have just moved to Canada, so i said id sign up to the assessment day in Toronto, i signed up in November but i got this, this morning
Dear Candidate,

Due to the current economic climate Etihad Airways will be unable to conduct further cadet pilot assessments this year. We are therefore postponing the planned selections in New York, Toronto and Singapore until further notice.

We very much hope to resume the process in 2010, and will email each of you again towards the end of 2009 should this be the case to confirm your interest.

We are very sorry that the current climate has forced us into this position; however we at Etihad Airways remain optimistic about the future and look forward to hopefully resuming the assessment process in 2010.
