I dont want to scare anyone. I just want the people make sure that they are doing the right thing when they come. You expectations must match or exceed the reality. The thing about pregnancy is true. Your embassies expect you to familiarise yourself with the law of the country of residence ( in this case UAE) and even if you are a modern country (EU) citizen it will not help in this case.
Overally, there is 10% people leaving EK every year and about 20 % joining, so having mature understanding of life and opinios here will only help.

Lebanese boyfriend
I saw some confusion over my post regarding having your first boyfriend in Dubai as Lebanese. It is too long to explain, just wait , come and see ....
Most of the arabic speakers EK employs as CC are from Lebanon, as there are some figures in Senior Management from that country who lobby this event; as well as most Lebanese guys speak french and look good. This explains lagre number of lebanese CC in EK.
Further, as you come in contact in your first months to mainly your colleagues, most not gay guys you will meet are Lebanese. They look good, spend money lavishly and are pleasant in communication. So most of the girls decide "why not" and here statistic comes.
I hope this explanation will be accepted by the surprised majority of you girls. Welcome to Ek anyway.

So, a few weeks ago Emirates called me and left several messages on my cell phone. I was out of town for work and unable to call them back right away. They also sent a few emails. I have been trying to call them since I got home a couple weeks ago but every time I call all I get is a full voicemail, so I can't even leave a message. I've emailed them explaining this and asking when a good time to call would be. With the time diffrence between Ottawa and Dubai it's hard to have the chance to call. Does anyone have any idea what I should do? It's getting really frustrating!!!

Hi,
That means you are in!!! Try to call them between 11-2 their time...and try couple times! I tried last time about 7-8 calls and finally went through. So don't be frustrated, they are going to tell you that you have been selected and start your medical, as well as you DOJ.
My DOJ is May 30.
Try to call them in 1 hour! looking forward to hear your good news!

Heyy everyone.. It's mostly true what has been said previously about lebanese guys. I'm one of them! lol And i'll be glad to announce that i'm joining on the 20th of June!!

This is funny- its almost like...'things to do while in Dubai' and one of them is going Lebanese...nice to see ppl have a good sense of humor

i assume that the EX-pursuer actually counts having a Lebanese boyfriend in the category of the +s, not the -s....
hey hey said it, they speak 3 to 4 languages, they are all very well educated, nice to talk to, cultivated, interesting, enjoy a nice sense of humour... that being said, i guess girls would like going out with a Lebanese guy like myslef!!

All the stuff that ex EK purser said are true! Im here in DXB for EK and i can confirm!! There was also a video that was on the net called EK Standards, where a ek girl crew was giving her boyfriend a blowjob in FULL uniform. It turns out he lost his cell phone somewhere, and the clip surfaced on the net. The girl in the video was on a layover in London and got a call from her friends here in Dubai telling her not to come back here!! So she bought a ticket from London back home and never returned to Dubai. Lucky her because her boyfriend is in jail now and she would be too! I've also heard of many other girls that had to flee the country because they were pregnant! My adivce to you is to READ and find out what your getting into!! it's not as glamours as it seems!

I got it! I finally got the call from Emirates. After weeks of trying to call them back they finally called when I was home! Yay! My DOJ is July 11th. A bit later then most on here right now but it's what I wanted. Yay, I'm so excited!! And crazy scared. I'm so glad for forums like this. They pump me up to go. Can't wait to meet you guys over there!!
