LHR parking

When you start working at LHR..where do you park your car? Is there a staff car park? Is it a secure car park? Just wondering as with WW it'll be parked there for a few days at a time, and my insurance wants to know how secure the parking is. Any help appreciated

Parking is secure don't worry, you swipe in and out. Very busy tho you need to allow time to look for a space. Thousands of crew parking in there and not enough spaces!

Interview Questions

Hi All,

Would appreciate it if anyone could provide a quick rundown of the latest interview format and questions. My friend has his interview on Wednesday and it's been 4 years since I had mine. Just wondering if it's changed in that time.

Good luck to everyone applying and training. You'll love it!

ba tests

hi all.

My wife has interview day coming up for BA and as part of the day there are tests run by a company called shl, (shldirect.com). She tried the practice tests online and the maths one was horrendous. Question. Are these tests similar to the ones BA actually use? Anyone completed an interview day recently and care to comment. Mrs PC767 is changing her mind about going!

Unless things have changed in the last month, only CSAs are required to do the SHL tests. They are really simple, you just look at mock computer screens and look at written info and look for any errors - just like what you would do in a check-in scenario. Nothing to worry about. If she's applying for Cabin Crew, then nothing to worry about at all because she won't be doing one. It's an anomaly on the email invitation that hasn't been removed.

cabin crew wages for new starters

i was offered a cabin crew at gatwick last year and i decided to turn it down because the wages were so low, since im a single fella renting in london, and for the same reason i didnt apply for ef this year, but im wondering if my calculation of the salary and allowances right, would anyone be kind enough to tell me how much per month a new starter can expect to take home each month after allowances? so i can make a decision as to whether i should this carreer option go. it seems unless you live your mum and dad or have a supportive partner then its not possible, financialy to work for ba. thanking you in advance of your help.

Cool

Hi,

Hope someone can help. I'm starting training soon for BA eurofleet. I have accomodation sorted for my training but was wondering if anyone had or knew of some where that rents rooms on a nightly basis that isn't too expensive.

Thanks.

Successful... but still waiting...

Hi there!

I got this email more than 2 weeks ago... does anyone know how long they take to call you ( or email) to let you know when the training begins? Is this email normal? Thank you!

"We are pleased to advise you that your assessment for Ref. UKLHR367, Air Cabin Crew - Shorthaul role has been successful.
Due to the level of response to our advertisement, we are currently unable to offer you a training course date. We would, however, like to keep your application on hold until further course dates are available. Your application is valid for one year from the date of your assessment and we will be in contact again at least 6 weeks before your start date.
We are sorry that we are unable to estimate the date when a training course will be offered to you, but please be assured that all applicants are offered dates strictly in date order of their interview.
We hope to be in contact with you in the near future and look forward to your joining us.
Yours sincerely
British Airways Recruitment"

I went to the interview on Feb 19th (morning) and got the e-mail telling me I had been successful the following day. (E/F LHR).The day after that I got a call asking me if I could start training on May 5th. My son, who has got the WW temp. contract (LHR) went to his interview on Jan 31st (morning) and got the e-mail that afternoon. The following day BA called him to ask him to start training on April 21st. I have heard of other people who waited over 2 weeks before they were told they had been successful, and who are still waiting for course dates. I have no idea how the system works. We have both got uniform fitting appointments...it appears that uniform stores are inundated with new entrants and are very busy, so best to book asap.

19th FEB INTERVIEW

Hey guys!!!!

I had interview on 19th of FEB and found out I was successful less than an hour after I finished my interview. I`m in the holding pool now but know people on the same day have been given a course date. Bit confused as it said in the email that courses would be given strictly by the date of interview????? Anyone else in the same boat or has anyone been given a course that had their interview after 19th FEB??????

I had my interview on the 19th (afternoon) for LHR EF and am still waiting. Someone I know who had theirs on the 18th was given a date last Monday starting 5th May. I called today just to ask if they knew an approximate time, was just told 'in the near future' and that I'd get a call soon.

Cityguy84... were you in the morning or afternoon session?

Landlady, feel a lot better after reading you're post... must mean us afternoon people on the 19th are next to be given a start date!! Been checking phone and emails obsessively, just waiting to get THAT call!

Fingers crossed all of us waiting will hear something very soon!

holding pool EF

I had my interview on monday 18th in the afternoon and got a positive answer on thursday morning! A colleague of mine was there for the morning session and got an email a few hours after the interview and the following day was offered may 5th.

I'm still waiting. As long as all references details are made available to BA.. I did it quite soon after the interview but they still have not contacted any of my referees...

Training

Hi

I have a question I'm hoping somebody can help me with. Do we get paid anything for the 6 weeks of training and do we start work right after we have undergone the training?

pay

You definitely get paid from the moment you start your training course. And I suppose you will start flying straight after the training... if you're lucky, you might get a couple of days off, maybe one and off you go! happy flying!
