Sadiegirl there really is no use in asking what the rosters/days off/weekends are going to be just yet, because nobody knows!!! The LCY base set up is a complete mess. After being told it was a nightstop base the april rosters have given virtually all the nightstops to the EDI crews they even get nights in GLA and also nightstop in London??????? The established BACON crews who have moved to LCY base are not happy chappies!!!!! Also when is the base suppose to open? the crews are supposed to be self sufficient at LCY by the 25th of March but no passes/car park passes have been actioned theres not even a crew room yet! does anybody know whats going on?

It needs a few months to settle down to see how things are really going to be , however if you want to be home every night don't think about it! If you don't mind being away quite a lot then it looks like it could be quite good fun.

The rosters are chaotic, basically the ops department are fire fighting each day as it comes, crews getting lots of phone calls down route changing there duties from one day to another, i have not found one crew member yet who has actually worked what is on there published roster!!! ops didnt even know how they were going to get crew in position from EDI i heard they had to hire a kingair at the last moment and fly them down to city today!!! (25th sunday).

BA Cityflyer Rosters
Hey... I just got a job offer with BA CityFlyer (haven't accepted yet!). Are the rosters still a shambles? Does anyone know the kind of hours/ overnights I might expect working 50% based at Edinburgh?

Pepsilight you will not get 50% roster from the start, you will be full time and then have to apply for part time afterwards if available at the base. The only way you will get part time from the start is if you have children under the age of five i think there is some law that states that, i am sure someone will be able to clarify that.

50%
Cheers Marlowe ..good to be warned! Do you know what 50% on the rosters look likes anyway ..is it 7 days on and a few hours each day or 3-4 days with long hours? ..and roughly how many overnighters do you get each week (if you're full time or if you're 50%)

Working at BA Cityflyer
Hi, to all those waiting to start at Cityflyer, things have settled down now after the chaos we went through setting the new base/company up. It was very stressful and our rosters were all over the place but they are ok now! If you have been offered a position as part-time then that's what you will be, there are new entrants all ready online with part-time rosters so please don't worry.
Depending on what base your at could depend on the amount of time you are away, as it stands edi tours more than lcy, but lcy still get tours. Any more advice just ask.

New Start at BA Cityflyer
Hello! I'm starting with Cityflyer in EDI on the 30th July. Would love to hear a bit more about rosters and nightsops etc. I'm really looking forward to it despite some of the negative things I've read. Would love to hear from anyone else starting at the same time!

Out of interest where does this training now take place. Surely not at Man and what type of in-flite service is offered. Are the management BA mainline on secndment or CF people.

Training/ Rosters/ Nightstays
I'm starting training on 30th July for EDI and it'll be in Livingstone (close to EDI). Can anyone tell me more details about rosters/ nightstays? I'm completely new to all this and have no idea what the 50% (1 week on/ 1 week off) means. Do you fly for the likes of 10 hours per day, 7 days per week with the likes of 1 overnight stay in your week? Apologies if my question is completely dumb and thanks for any help anyone can give!

Rosters and service
Hiya PepsiLight,
There are no set hours for each day, (except whats legally allowed) you might get a quick flight to london and back, then another day you could be on a 3 day trip to madrid, you could end up in london for a night and then out to frankfurt for a night, it varies each month.
The service is really easy everything is complimentary! We do a Club Europe cabin and a Euro traveller cabin, the service differs but its soooo easy don't worry about it.
I'm not quite sure how your roster will work but you might do so many days in a row then have a couple of weeks off. My friend is 50% and loves it!
Anything else either PM me or post.
