Can anybody shed some light on where Vista will Base the current advertised Pilot Jobs...?
It works on a gateway system: there is a list of "suitable" airports from where you will be "airlined" to your a/c (temp) base for the next duty period, then back to the same place on Day 17...

You better live close to one of them! List on PPJN, not sure if up to date, tho!

PZ :ok:

dirk85 3rd December 2014 21:46

Apparently the choice you make regarding the gateway will determine whether you will be employed or a contractor with them, due to the new social security legislation in the EU.

Malta base is being "suggested".

dboy 4th December 2014 07:27

Got a rejection mail from them........again.

What do you have to do to be eligible??:(

dirk85 4th December 2014 09:14

A buddy of mine got an email from them 10 days ago saying that his application would be passed to the appropriate hiring manager for review. No news since then.

Ride On 4th December 2014 12:06

Interesting Selection Process.......!

Thanks for the update guys, does anyone care to list the ideal base location where Vista would consider you to be suitable, please feel free to PM me.......!

Thank you in advance......!:ok:

fastos 4th December 2014 12:19

@dirk85 I got the same email saying my cv got forwarded to the appropriate manager. Haven't heard anything since either.

dboy 5th December 2014 09:17

Got first also that email. Than 10days later the rejection without any reason. Dont get it anymore. :(

Vistajet? Latest news, anyone?!

Same...no idea what they are looking for in a bizjet pilot. Not a look in!! Apart from not having a rating, I exceed their requirements with what I like to think is pretty decent global bizjet experience and don't get the luxury of an interview. Enigma!!

Propellerpilot 8th December 2014 10:03

Probably looking for some young guns, who are prepared too pay for their rating and be so inclined to take all the "bs" that will be thrown at them...

Don't be sad if they reject you - it may just be a blessing in disguise ;) especially if you are expierenced. A lot of such pilots have been rejected by them over the years - you just have to study this thread to get an idea.

papazulu 8th December 2014 11:48

AFAIK no money-exchanging-hands with VJ so nobody has to pay for his/her own TR. Bank guarantee required for a 3-years bond tho, unless practice have changed.

T&Cs questionable? Well, unless the doctor said that signing on the dotted line is matter or life or death...your call, ain't?

PZ

dboy 8th December 2014 11:56

I m somehow convinced that i'm rejected because my "old" age. (39) :ugh:

PZ

Yes, just like with Ryanair

Propellerpilot 8th December 2014 20:23

Yeah- unless practice has changed, that bond surety reflects on your bank account as a BIg 5 digit number with a negative prefix.I.e:. no per rata. If you leave one day early befor the 3 years are over, guess what is going to happen ??? Better have a good lawyer in that case, he will possibly be able to help you out claiming your money back.:ok:

FLYDUS 9th December 2014 12:14

It is really hard to read all the bs that is said about Vistajet in this thread.

No one needs to pay for the type ratings anymore, there is a bond, which i think is totally understandable and fair.

The 17/13 roster is very stable and works good.

The salary is not the best in the industry, no doubt about that and additionally a lot of other stuff still needs improvement, but over all this company grew in such an enormous speed into a true global player, that of course there are some things still working like in a small business outfit, other stuff is already as professional as it can get. Honestly, in terms of SOPs and training we are on a very good way over the last years and i seriously dont think we are worse than any airline.

The flying in VJ is challenging and extremely rewarding. You will get absolute worldwide experience in a short timeframe and you are flying with a lot of very motivated, skilled and friendly colleaugues. Also the support from Dispatch, Crewplanning etc is most of the time great. Thats for sure.

This does not mean we are not supposed to work on the existing problems:

I am sure that the management is. Just give them some time to fix the major ones. You cannot have all at once. 10 years ago, we had 3 aircraft, now we have 40. Just imagine that, and than you can see why not everything is perfect.......

I normally just read this thread here, but now it was time to defend VJ a bit since 90 percent of the stuff that is written here is complete nonsense, which was propably written by pilots that were not accepted for some reason or fired or whatever. It is the only explanation i have for all these lies.

Dont get me wrong. I am not a management pilot whatsoever and i am internally complaining and trying to push things into the right direction. But i cannot stand if wrong things are said and continuosly repeated. It doesnt make them right, only because it is told often.

Happy landings everyone

noneya 9th December 2014 12:59

Those Training contacts are not worth the paper they are written on. I don't know anyone who has ever had to pay one back, and if there is someone, then they were scared into paying it.

It just more airline style BS.

Propellerpilot 9th December 2014 13:13

The point is that you don't pay, they can and will impound the sum from your account... I know this because it happend to a friend of mine. It took a lawyer to get the surety cleared.

FLYDUS: that is good news - good to hear that. Maybe I will consider to apply if they are looking for my Type...

noneya 9th December 2014 13:16

If you are quitting why would you expect to get paid? And as you just said, a lawyer got it back anyway

Propellerpilot 9th December 2014 14:04

1.) Do you understand how a bank surety works ? It is not about getting paid.

2.) People have different reasons for quitting - sometimes because of the way you have been treated or you have a growing disagreement to some expieriences you have been exposed to or operationally confronted with as an employee, that are unacceptable to you as a professional. Do you think in such a case it would be advisable to squeeze your butt and stay a year or two longer until the bonding time is over ?

dirk85 9th December 2014 19:10

Any chance to end up on the Global or it is only 350 at this time?

BizJetJockey 10th December 2014 09:55

Vistajet? Latest news, anyone?!

I've heard from people I know who work there that it is a very decent place to work and as we know, on decent modern equipment. The roster is generally better than other rotations being offered and the flying is interesting. Currently being made redundant, Vista looked to be an attractive place to work however for some unknown reason my experience doesn't warrant an interview which is disappointing. They give no reason why not and to be honest I don't think they have a reason. It's frustrating!! One generally hopes that if you exceed what they require, they will at least be interested in meeting you at which point they can decide if you are suitable as a person. They don't want to do this and I just want to know why this is.

dboy 10th December 2014 10:26

You are absolutely right Bizjetjockey. After the rejection i mailed them asking for a reason because i was also fed up with being rejected the whole time without a reason. Of course, no reaction of them but probably a red point behind my name.:E

Well, i did my best, nothing i can blame myself except not having the williness to join the PTF schemes and working for peanuts.

Good luck.

BizJetJockey 10th December 2014 10:44

Vistajet? Latest news, anyone?!

It works both ways in my opinion. It would be nice if recruitment wasn't so one sided. people are interested in working for you so acknowledge that person's experience by at least allowing them to prove themselves at an interview. It's tiresome being ignored when you show interest and a legitimate desire to work for them. I'll go back to playing my tin whistle at my usual spot for now!!

wind check 18th December 2014 20:05

Vistajet will probably rebase everybody at Malta in order to avoid to pay the local social security in each of their gateway as per new EU regulations.

Delta12 18th December 2014 20:12

Great, work and fly the richest for a company that at the other hand can only sustain by avoiding paying social security and paying peanuts...........

Do the customers know how much less their crew makes compared to KLM/AF, LH Crews ? If not -> make them aware, and see if they like it :)

MAD !

jetopa 19th December 2014 04:03

[QUOTE]Do the customers know how much less their crew makes compared to KLM/AF, LH Crews ? If not -> make them aware, and see if they like it [/QUOTE

Do you really believe they care? At the end of the day, the price is paramount.

Social conscience of a business jet passenger? I am not a socialist, but this is a contradiction in itself.

Delta12 19th December 2014 07:05

They might be greedy/selfish, but the majority ain't stupid.

You get what you pay for !

Global_Global 19th December 2014 09:25

rebase everybody at Malta
Now that will be fun....

Iver 31st December 2014 01:08

What is the typical fleet allocation for newhires? How many from a percentage standpoint these days get the CL350, CL605 or the Global?

Cheers

Proline21 31st December 2014 17:03

Unless rated with time on type I assume that new hires will only go to the CL350, since it is their smallest Jet at this time (the Lear 60 will go, if not gone already - long time ago since I saw one at FAB).

silverknapper 31st December 2014 17:33

It just seems to depend on where there is a need for crew and on the individuals experience level.

maxed-out 1st January 2015 12:34

You may find the 350 fleet is quite senior with existing Global crews chomping at the bit to get on it.

Happy new year everyone.

dirk85 1st January 2015 13:01

Why would a Global pilot chomp over the possibility of a 350?
I would imagine the other way around honestly.

Happy new year!

maxed-out 1st January 2015 13:06

Dirk85,

Rumour has it that fatigue is the issue. I don't fly there but a mate does and that is what he told me.

dboy 2nd January 2015 07:37

I dont know if in this company they are looking to your experience. I see a lot of experienced people getting PFO mails, me included.

I personally think that the german language is an issue.

Just a thought.

Knewgye 3rd January 2015 19:57

I don't know if its experience either!

12,000 TT, 10 years corporate experience world-wide, the last 4 years on the Global, aircraft management / flight ops management experience.

PFO. I'm not sure what it is they're looking for, but best of luck to anyone trying. :ok:

Piloto2011 4th January 2015 00:33

As far as I am concerned the suspected language requirement is no issue.

You may have been sent a PFO - so what? Give it a couple months and send your resume again to show them how really bad you would like to work with them.

Thinking you get called for interview after only one application - despite a ton of hours - happens rarely in this industry.

Vista Phone's intereview

Hi, anybody has experienced the phone's interview with Vista?
What can you expect? I will undergo in few days and I do not what to blow it from the beginning.
Any hint will be appreciated.

papazulu 5th January 2015 16:19

What can you expect? I will undergo in few days and I do not what to blow it from the beginning.
Who makes the call these days? If still NvdM, usual stuff. You should do your homework and research thoroughly where the company stands today in terms of business, airframes etc, etc. If the caller is his nemesis (can't remember his name but he took the FLT OPS MNG chair when the former became ACC MNG) then I don't know but I would be surprised if he stepped outside the VJ-model set before.

Good luck

Info contract, vacation, base etc

Hi!

Does anyone who work (or other) at VistaJet have any good info on the VistaJet contracts on salary vacation etc? Where you get employed or if you get hired as contractor. Do you get a bigger salary as contractor because of social fees etc?

And if you get hired in ex Malta if they still arrange you tickets from any major airport in Europe?

Thanks!
