Best paid business jet job

Hi Gents, I just got an option to get a job in business aviation. Company has a few types. Just wondering what is a best paid aircraft type.

Yeager 21st May 2013 14:02

BBJ, ACJ, G650. G550/BD700, F7X then downwards.

Good luck and welcome to one of the more fun parts of the aviation industry! :p

Best paid business jet job? Brokering. :E

FrankR 21st May 2013 16:22

I'd say that the guy buying the jet is the best paid

FR

mutt 21st May 2013 16:55

Sorry FrankR but i have to disagree with you as they have to finance the office costs and hopefully get enough sales on a consistent basis. How many times has a broker spent time and effort dealing with a client only to see the whole deal fall apart at the end :(

Best paid job is the one where the passengers tip like crazy :)

if THAT question ist the most important to you...

stay out of aviation....EVERY part of aviation....

we've already got more than enough clowns like that in the corp sector and by the way of their nature, they are in the process of destroying it completely...

I would prefer the question to be best business jet job, ie. the whole package. Wages, time off, health dental, retirement plans, not pressured to perform unsafe practices, respect from owners/company for us as professionals.
Best paying does not necessarily equal best job.

Cheers

Just show me the money, the rest are frills.

There are so many B737, Airbus guys around. Why they are the best paid?:}

cldrvr 21st May 2013 19:48

LoCo and pay to fly 73 drivers are a dime a dozen, that's why the likes of eJ and FR only need to pay peanuts to find them monkeys. BBJ drivers is a different ballgame all together.

PURPLE PITOT 21st May 2013 21:15

It's all about VVIP long haul experience. The loco monkeys can't hack it.

tommoutrie 21st May 2013 22:18

Global Vision and 650 pilots are probably close to the top of the league right now so just tell them that you want to fly that. Sounds a bit too good to be true, choosing which type to break into business jets.. Salaries vary enormously from company to company because who you fly, where you fly, what your roster is, what else you can do, all that stuff goes into the equation. There's no fixed salaries in business aviation. None of us are paid to fly business jets at all - we all do that bit for free. Its all the waiting around and fannying about that we charge for...

B200Drvr 22nd May 2013 01:45

BBJ and ACJ are not as high as GLEX or G650/550. Also depends on region.

Have to agree with Mizuno Boy and Mutt! The package plus the "envelopes" make it all worth while! Although type is also up there...range and comfort is important!
(hey MB...who ya picking? Sens? Pens? Wings? My three long shots...)

Mizuno boy 22nd May 2013 11:34

Sharks, we lost to the evntual winner last 3 years may as well make it 4.

Sharks is a good choice....keeps a good buddy flying all through the playoffs! Although he's already got a prime job with some rich dude from the US! Two jobs is better than one for some is guess! Enjoy the impending celebrations...
Sorry about the thread creep people...

Get off your high horse Falconer. Many of us go to work to earn a living. It helps if you enjoy your job, but at the end of the day, it's about putting food on the table.

I could argue that it's people who aren't interested in the pay that are ruining the industry. Those that will accept whatever T's&C's are offered, just so that they can call themselves a pilot.

Although the original question does appear naive, I don't have any problem with someone wanting to put a good pay packet at the top of their requirements.

BBJ-Captain 22nd May 2013 18:05

It would seem GV+ jobs pay the best. BBJ and ACJ coming in close behind.
The reason there are so many Boeing drivers around is because there are so many Boeings!
The reason that there are so few jobs on BBJs is because there aren't actually that many BBJs, and those that have a job on a true VIP BBJ tend to hang on to their positions for a while, and it is a very small community.
There is a big difference between VIP BBJ, and corporate Boeing business jets.

To be given an 'in' to the private jet world on any of a companies operating type is unheard of. Friends in high places you must have!

Good luck.
