Crop dusting in Europe
Some say it's illegal everywhere, some say not everywhere. Does anyone have any reliable information on which countries it's allowed, if any? EU and Balkans area only.
Thanks in advance.

As far as the EU is concerned the answer is simple: "Aerial crop spraying is banned as a general rule" (from here: https://www.europarl.europa.eu/facts...+crop+spraying). Regarding the few remaining countries in the Balkans that have not joined the EU (yet) someone else can do the googling!

forests spraying is still doing quite well.
No. I am saying about spraying pesticides.
I know for sure that is being done in Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Sweden at least.
Can't share more details, but a bit of search should bring you some light.
Fire fighting is a different matter, but those services are provided by the same companies.
Fun fact, old Dromader can be used for both type of missions, but Air Tractor must be dedicated to only one of them.

Aerial spraying of pesticides was common practice in the former German Democratic Republic (like in most ex eastern block countries) but not any more since the reunification nearly 35 years ago.
In Germany it is done in rare cases to fight one specific insect (Eichenprozessionsspinner) in forests only and exclusively using helicopters because they can deliver the pesticide in small doses exactly where it is needed. Helicopters are also used for neutralizing acid soils with calcium compounds (Waldkalkung).

Btw I've seen myself the use of drones in some of the UK orchards. Also crop spraying but in a new way.
