Tips to buy a midsize bizjet

Hi everyone;
I looking to buy a midsize jet to be used locally 1000 nm an monthly trips to Uruguay from USA .
The budget is aprox 3 millons USD.
One of the most common option I receive is an LJ-60XR, but perhaps, You can help me choosing the right plane to fly.
Best Regards and thanks in advance.
Best Regards
Ignacio

Are you talking about one of the airports in that list?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...rts_in_Uruguay

From Us is more a 4500Nm trip.
Maybe a 7X can do it without fuel stop but certainly not in the 3 million price range.

Thats also an alternative to the 60´.
I read that fuel consuption is bigger than the Lear but perhaps cabin is bigger?

An alternative considered is an CL-604. Better cabin than de LJ-60 for the long trips. and cheaper than the Falcons..

If "monthly trips" means only 12 round trips per year, then I'd be chartering rather than purchasing.

Thank you sir. Have done, so ignore my comment if the 1000nm flying is going to be taking you over 250-300hrs of annual flying.

How about the G200? Have to be an older one to stay close to the purchase budget.

Challenger 850.
Or a cheaper option would be a converted CRJ200 with a business cabin.
I know one that probably will be up for sale.
Pm for more info

Advise on purchase of a used business jet

Hello everyone,
My friend is seeking to buy a business jet, and we are looking for some honest and professional advice. We are looking at a 10 - 14 seater business jet that has the following specifications:

1. A fuel endurance of at least 6hrs with a good payload.
2. A relative low maintenance and operational cost.
3. Costing about USD3 - 4m for a top notch used airplane.
4. Modern avionics (EFIS at least) and Engines (high bypass).

I will greatly appreciate your counsels. Thanks

LJ60 is quite maintenance intensive.
A CL604 or CL300 would be better.

Have a look at used Embraer Legacy 600 frames. Budget might be tight but it can be done close or slighty above it. I would say a 10-13 year frame would be close to 3-5 Mio USD.

Redundancy of an Airliner, 13 Pax configuration, very large cabin, proven reliable platform based on a regional airliner jet, 6/7 hrs range depend on load, good short field landing characteristics (takeoff on short RWYs can be limiting!), good worldwide maintenance options, cheap and affordable type ratings, unmatched (accessible) baggage space (up to 450 kgs, like 20-30 suitcases...) and so on...
