Lufthansa, PAX upgrade

Good evenning,

Quick question, I'm an FO at Ryanair, I'm going to fly as pax with lufthansa long haul on the 747, anyone knows if it's possible to get offered by my fellow colleagues a free upgrade? I know for example that in Emirates it's against company policy.

cheers

Brilliant post.... There is a way that works every time but it’s generally only known by rotary club members and brothers. What is required first is an envelope, but it must be recycled paper with no plastic for the address view. This is important.. Then you need to write the words Hakan do eat if you willy want on the BACK, not the front.. Get that wrong and you’re toast... Now when that is prepared, take it with you to the airport. Oh I almost forgot, only black ink... Once at the airport head to check in, make sure you are wearing your uniform.. Then hand the envelope to the person ahead of you and ask them to hand it to the check in lady/man/person... When its your turn ask for it back.. She will know exactly what you want and the process starts...

Now head over to the Lufthansa lounge... Don’t go in, just knock and wave in a circular motion anti clockwise and don’t smile... Then head on over to the gate and wait for boarding...

Now the tricky part, you need to board as the 11th passenger.. Push by if needed, you’ve come this far... Once you are onboard, go straight to seat 1A and sit down... Don’t talk to anyone...

You’ve made it, enjoy the flight..

I wish you the best. Ryanair crew certainly deserve free upgrades.. The way their customers are molly cuddled and all... Not that Pilots are responsible for that.

Do I get a free upgrade when I travel with Ryanair? Oh, I forgot they don't have business. And I don't fly them ;-)

Seriously, you could just try asking nicely. However, most probably that won't work. As far as I have been told by LH cabin crew, they are not allowed to upgrade anyone on board for free unless in exceptional circumstances that are justifiable. At check in or at the gate they will first try to sell all available space in business and premium economy and only then give it away to customers with status (HON Circle, Senator, Frequent Traveller or equivalent in that order) and typically only if it suits them, meaning if economy is overbooked.

Perhaps try to upgrade using miles or cash if possible?

Why is this in the biz jet section anyway?

Maybe he would like to get a free upgrade to a Lufthansa Private Jet :P

Seriously, no upgrades in LH as explained above. If you work for Ryanair you should enough cash to purchase a nice business class ticket, depending on where you wish to fly to to, this can be less expensive than you thought.
