Global Jet F/O position

Hello guys,

I would like to ask you about any experience with GlobalJet Concept/Luxembourg company. To be precise, I`am interested in Bombardier Global 5000/Express/XRS first officer position.

Thank you for your time!
Ciao

You'll stay First Officer there for the rest of your life—even if you're French.

Thank you for respond. With my current company I`ll have the same. Any idea, what`s the reason for that in Global Jet? I have noticed on ppjn that it states the same like "no chance for upgrade".

Before I joined bizav, I heared only delicious things about Global Jet, now it`s all gone...

People only stay with them until they find something better - unless the owner (client) don't let you go. The company owner/CP is known to be a circus clown.

The reason behind that? Probably cost and complacency. Once there's a vacancy for a captain, Global Jet could—of course—upgrade you to captain and then look for another F/O, or they could simply hire a Frenchman who already has command experience. The latter is significantly less trouble for them and that's exactly what they're going to do. Most of the F/Os who joined Global Jet when I did—more than a decade ago—are still F/Os, some have left for F/O positions in smallish airlines after eight to ten years. Hence, my advice for you is to skip that step and go to a reputable airline straight away, otherwise you'll just throw your life and career away.

Being F/O on a large business jet is a bit of a trap: to be considered for a captain position you need a) a vacancy, b) in excess of 4,000 hours, and c) some command time—but you won't get b) and c) at most business jet operators, especially not at Global Jet.

They don't upgrade FO's and typically hire direct entry captains.

Guys,

do you have any info about BD700 bases in GlobalJet? I would really love to hear about Nice, Geneva, Luxembourg etc. Are most of their aircraft for charter or only for owner use or mixed?

Any infos appreciated!
