USA Charter Brokers

Just trying to understand the US market a bit better when it comes to charter brokers. In Europe it seems that a lot of operators business comes via brokers, in some cases and conversations I've had virtually all business comes via a broker. BACA and other associations have strong membership and a quick search for brokers pulls up many many results.

From the outside looking in, it appears to me that US FBO's offer a more robust serve including charter? There don't seem to be many stand alone brokerages and ACANA's membership doesn't seem quite so large?

I'm really wanting someone to put me straight on this, but am I missing something obvious and just looking in the wrong places for brokers, or are the FBO's more inclusive and actually handle charter bookings in the US?

Thanks in advance for your help.
