Milan Linate briefing
Has anyone of you done the briefing recently?
First of all it is extra difficult to find the appropriate website and secondary the system cannot score you test- the page simply reloads again and again
Some time ago I read the briefing is mandatory for pilots. Can you confirm it is still so?
Thanks.

There was a notam 4 years ago about it.
I basically said that it was recommended to take the briefing if not based there, but if any inconvenience should happen and the PIC did not take it it would be considered negligent behaviour.
So a kind of grey area.
I did take it when it came out, big mess.
The web page had problems, some questions were wrong, some were not part of the briefing and you had to guess and after all that the grading and printing of the "certificate" did not work, etc.
Had to go through few phone calls, from office to office, nobody knew anything, finally got called back from the webmaster and problem solved.
Dirk85, you know how it works ;-) (there was a thread in the Italian forum)
Arramis, my link does not work anymore, do you have a new one? (just curious)

The link I have: http://www.milanolinate.eu/en/airport/general-aviation
I took me some serious time to find it.
Will try to write an email to the webmaster.

At that time I was based there, so it was not applicable to me, I guess.
I can see why a briefing is mandatory, I don't see how else a professional pilot would be able to follow a follow me from K1 to the stand and the full 20 metres from the stand to H1…

The guy that compiled the questions for Linate is surely the same idiot who put together the test required for Samedan.
Anyone believing that operational safety is enhanced because a visiting pilot can remember the ICAO code of an airport, its hours of operation or information such as an ATIS frequency is deluded, probably paid peanuts and is unlikely to progress beyond the lower ranks of middle management.
Such people should be pitied, and not blamed for their misguided attempts.
